Around Rochester aera.

G'day Everyone!

The final day has turned out to be interesting. Meeting a lot of the alumni who came up at the last moment has proved to be fruitful. Everyone has enjoyed a wonderful weekend and most of us are still around here on a Sunday afternoon. It doesn't matter if we're still nursing headaches from the night before to just wanting to be with friends for one last time before hitting the road.

I decided I wanted one last day in Rochester and spending it here on the NTID campus where a friend of mine, who's staying with me in my hotel, is attending a high school reunion of his own. It's given me the chance to get on a computer terminal and post today's story. It's kind of sad and happy. I am in hopes that there's another good 5 years in the world left to happen and that we can celebrate again in 2013.

I have walked the campus and seen a lot of the changes here. I should be jealous for all the present students who have the best of everything on this campus today. Where as we, the alumni, have fought tooth and nail of getting things done. I believe Dr. Hurwitz will make some big accomplishments that can be celebrated again in 5 years. I hope many of the current students will be thankful that the alumni of NTID have supported this fine institution for the past 4o years and the continued support for the next 40 years.

One of the most saddest things that I found out is the midtown plaza. Midtown plaza, the nation's first indoor mall, is coming to a close here. It'll be changed and sold off to make room for a new development. Sad. I loved that place. Especially with the clock tower in the center of the mall. What does it mean for Rochester? I am in hopes that we are not entering a bad economic time here. But anything can happen.

Well, by tomorrow I hit the road home. Have to drop a friend off and then go from there. It's sad to see friends leave, but then again, there's always my VP that I will be using once more.
So, as I close this, another 40 years of NTID have just begun. Maybe in 40 years, I will have a kid to come to NTID as well. Who knows? Time will only tell.

Finishing up the NTID's Final Reunion Day.

G'day Everyone!

I've hidden away again from the crowd and took a break to post this topic today. It's a rainy day here in Rochester, NY. Humid and warm. UGH. Typical Rochester weather.

We've been having a blast here at the reunion!
Friday was in TOTAL FULL SWING. Lots to see, lots to do. And meet an awful lot of people!!
I missed my chance to sit in the discussions with Dr. Alan Hurwitz on Friday, but that was ok.

Matt Hamil, the UFC fighter, visited the campus! Got a picture of him! Whoo! He's a wonderful dude! SALUTE TO Hamil! (sp till I get a chance to correct it later)

Lunch was ok in the Student Alumni Union (SAU). Food's improved here at RIT, But don't count on it being any better later!
We had a big get together BBQ blast that was hosted by Sorenson. outside under the tent. Yummy.

The WRONG GAME movie was shown and most of the NTID theater was filled. Good movie. If you want to know what's "THE WRONG GAME", you gotta see for yourself.

CJ Jones performed LIVE and it was like watching him being all of the Jay Leno acts. He was OUTRAGEOUS! WHOA!! He's rough. Especially when he battled the wits of a heckler! CJ won that round!! SALUTE CJ!

As we enter the mid-day, there is SVP pictures going on. I have to get to there soon

I was able to sit in the discussions with Dr. Hurwitz and YES, folks: The name of the A.G. Bell is coming off the Tower C dorm!! But we're hope that a name of a good person that comes in line with the NTID Philosophy will be able to put on the dorm. But, folks, please don't suggest Dr. William Castle. From what I learned about him and of his post NTID days, I can't share with you. Just don't nominate him.

Lastly, as the afternoon gets into the swing, I think we'll have the FULL CROWD here. Lots of fun.
Ok.. I've hidden away long enough. Tonight's a big party. Lots of fun.

P.S. Yes I've heard that Gallaudet got reaffirmed on re-accreditation. I plan to post on the info next week about it. I just haven't had the chance to absorb the info.

Until next time.. Salute from the NTID Reunion!

Parking and relaxing at the NTID Reunion.

G'day Everyone!

Ah.. pease (peace) and quiet for a few moments. I'm hiding in a cube so I can post this today.

My car's parked safely under some trees to protect it from hail in case we get a BAD thunderstorm. humm.. bad choice of words, if I don't have to worry about hail, I'll have to worry about tree branches! :-)

Nearly everyone wants to talk to me, ask me about my web page and so on. One of the good news is that Dr. Alan Hurwitz DOES WANT the A.G. Bell name off TOWER C dorm! (not tower B, my bad folks). So Dr. Hurwitz is following a process and we, as a deaf community, have to start thinking about names that could gracefully replace on the A.G. Bell dorm. That will be a wonderful moment.

Have been tromping around campus. It's huge now. You need a skateboard or sagway (motor scooter) to get around campus. RIT bookstore is moving to another part of campus and become a "Barnes&Nobels@ RIT" store! AHH, changes. It's not the same place where from the class of 68 to 1990s knew how we have to work our butts off for our classes to earn those degrees. But look at how today's student kids are being treated!! Almost in a life of STYLE! I kid you not! It is amazing!

I am aware of what's happens at Gallaudet University. I heard of what MSCHE is doing. My comments will be in a few post when I get home.

For now, I have to get back out to the crowd. Lots of people to meet. A few old cases to solve, and a few new ones to consider. Hopefully, everyone will have a great time here. Tonight.. CJ Jones performs in NTID theater after "The WRONG GAME".

(don't ask me what is the WRONG game. you have to be right with yourself to GO SEE IT!)

The Road to NTID 40th Reunion.

G'day Everyone!

Well, it's time to hit the road for me. I'm starting on 1 week trip that will take me the round about way to the NTID 40th Reunion. I'm meeting up 2 friends in one city and then head up to Rochester area at a day early, so that we can all rest and relax before the reunion begins.

Actually, my trip was suppose to have started last weekend. I was suppose to see a friend of mine in Allentown, PA. But then friday, my car got struck by lighting and it's electrical systems got screwed up. Then Saturday, something else happened. By Sunday, the car was ok.. but I still rushed it to my faithful mechanic who went over it with a fine tooth comb. He said "Your wagon is a tough car. Everything should be FRIED! But it seems to be working right now". I'll just knock on wood for luck and go with that.

A quick trip to another place and I'm all set . I hate how the weekend went. But that's life. One of the best things I did before I left was help my mum around the house and plant new windbreaker trees. Tough work, but did it.

Presently, I'm nearly done packing and I'm about to hit the road. My feelings are all in the mix and I'm praying for a safe trip. Just as much as I'm praying for all of the NTID alumni who will be coming to Rochester by Car, Bus, Plane, and Train! (humm.. should have there been a competition to see who comes from the farthest way? NAH!) I'm not happy with the gas prices. But then again, this will be a good reunion for us all. The memories will be worth it.

Will DBC attendance suffer? I doubt it. What about the AG Bell conference? I doubt they'll suffer any attendance. But if they want to defend the name of the dorm on the NTID campus, they'll have to give up their conference and come to the Reunion. Unfortunately, it seems more likely that the more discussions happen, the greater change that A.G.Bell name will be moved off the dorm and suggestions for the new name will happen. But we'll find out as things kick off on Thursday.

I hope I'll find my friends there. I'll be around as usual.

Update: I'm in Rochester. I didn't have time to post this earlier.
But if you are at the Reunion and see a sherlock hat floating around someone's head.. that's me.
Stop and say HI!!

See you here in ROCHESTER! What a CAMPUS! BIG CHANGES! Gotta run.

Deaf Immmigrant to stay in UK because of CI?

G'day Everyone!

When I speak about immigration issues, I need to say this: Every illegal immigrant ought to be punted right back to the end of the line of those seeking LEGAL immigration. Especially if they come in the country illegally or overstay on expired visas.

But here is where it gets twisted: As reported on Deafness.about.com's feature article : (see the guardian web page itself ) : http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/jun/23/immigration.immigrationpolicy

There is a young DEAF girl who's family is facing deportation and they're on EXPIRED visas in England. Now, I praise England for doing the right thing! When a visa is expired, these people ought to be obeying the law and leave and apply to legally immigrate to England. Since that's not happening, the couple is trying to gain sympathy from the public and hope that the public outcry will force officials to grant permission for the family to remain in England.

NOT ON MY WATCH! The girl's parents should have had a huge detailed discussion about their legal visa status before and after they had a deaf baby that needed CI, they should have first checked into permission to stay in the country in order to have their child fitted with CI.

But now, fitting a kid with CI and hope the officials will be "sympathetic" to the child's 'medical needs' just because the African homeland doesn't have CI services, well to be honest to say, I'm not moved to the couple's plight as the British officials are not either.

These are stupid parents that think putting a CI on a deaf kid in order to help her "hear" will cure her "deafness". These are the kind of parents that don't consider the outcome beyond the operation. Now that has happened, it's their money gone to waste. I wish immigrant parents would think CAREFULLY before applying a CI on a kid when their own immigration status isn't clear yet. If this couple gets "granted" to remain in England just because their daughter needs support for her CIs, it would open the floodgates for other people to try the same thing on other deaf babies. IT MUST STOP! It's a terrible thing to put a CI on a kid and then use the kid for political immigration reasons.

I have some sympathy for them yes. But to stay in England, NO. Expired Visa means YOU MUST LEAVE, GO TO THE BACK OF THE LINE AND APPLY FOR IMMIGRATION PERMISSION TO ENGLAND (or any country of your choice).

Just as much as there are thousands of illegal immigrants that will try anything and everything to remain in the country, whatever you entered illegally or stayed beyond your expired visas. But like England, you can and will be rounded up, questioned, processed of pictures, papers, finger printed, and sent back to where you stepped off from and told "you are at the END of the line. See you next 50 years". That's the punishment. They should be grateful for being able to be sent back home instead of landing in prison.

If more people obeyed the laws and did the right thing, we would not be having these problems today. But today, immigration is a serious issue. Illegal Immigration is a NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE in any country. Enter the country illegally and you can bet your life that you will lose your life in so many ways, it won't help you in hell.

Immigrant parents, just do me a favor. If you are in this country on a visa and you got a deaf child, don't put the CI on him till you get a GREEN CARD to remain in this country. If try the medical plight card, it will put you in a bad spot and I promise you, your kid will eternally hate you for it. Do the right thing. Resolve your immigration status first.

Farewell to George Carlin!

G'day Everyone!

What can I say? http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/06/23/carlin.obit/index.html
Today's news article as well as today's post is in honor of George Carlin. He died yesterday of Heart Failure at the age of 71.

George Carlin was a funny man. Raunchy, witty, and some times dirty jokes would shock the normally straight and holy audiences into side splitting laughs. George Carlin's best "gig" came out in the Mad Magazine that did a spoof on his theater performances. It was laughable stuff.

Seeing this man gone is like knowing the comedy world will NOT be the same ever again. George Carlin was a one of a kind man that knew his stuff. He knew what he was doing.
But sadly to say, he's done an exit stage right and the spotlight has been turned off. All that's left in the dark is a microphone and a bar stool.

Good bye George. Thank you. We'll miss you and not forget the impacts you made on us all.

Doctors and Deaf Patients: saying NO to relay?

G'day Everyone!

How many times have you and your doctor use a relay service to communicate? Some time? All times? or NONE at all?

It seems these days that there's STILL discrimination going on when doctors try to communicate over the phone and through a VRS (relay services). Do doctors go through with the call or hang up? Answer: They hang up.

Here's today's action feature : http://rsgeo007.blogspot.com/2008/06/doctors-and-relay-hung-up.html . Read that post and then come back here.

Now, if this becomes a NEW issue for the deaf community here, then we need to make it clear to doctors. Deaf people are patients too. We all got medical issues. We all need to hear from the doctor and being told of what we suffer of or facing treatment options.
We don't need to see doctors calling hearing family members and having them (family members) to "relay" sensitive information that they don't need to know about. In Emergency, that's fine. But when it's NON-Emergency, use the relay services.

So today, my post is being addressed to all Medical professional people: Please doctors, treat us (the deaf community), like REAL PEOPLE. We are NOT second class people. Relay services are there to help us communicate with you. We need your help so that we stay healthy! Relay people are bonded and certified people. They can't share information out side the relay services! They know better than that! So, pick up that phone and learn about relay services.

Or better yet, start investing a website, e-mail, or instant messenger systems to communicate with your deaf patients!

My post is very important today. I hope Doctors will listen and make a difference for us all.
Thank you.

Come to NTID 40th Reunion and FIGHT the A.G.Bell Dorm name!

G'day everyone!

I felt I needed to throw the glove down against a video logger: Jack's Eyes. ( http://www.jackseyes.com/?p=84 ). I hate to say I'm sorry that I can't go to The Deaf Bilingual Coalition (DBC) conference. But it's MORE important that our ALUMNI of NTID comes to the NTID 40th Reunion on the campus of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and get the message out LOUD and CLEAR! Tower B's dorm name : A. G. Bell, MUST BE TAKEN OFF THE DORM!!

So, I'm throwing down my glove and encourage people to come to this Reunion. It's a very important event on the RIT/NTID campus. But yeah, I even realize that DBC is important too. I even put the word out months ago that it was suggested that DBC should move their conference dates to another weekend so that people could come to both events. I learned it was a no deal because they have gotten a fantastic location in Wisconsin.

*sigh* So with two events nearly going on at the same time, will we be successful in both locations? That's a major question and it'll be answered in ONE week from TODAY!

Anyone who still needs NTID Reunion information: http://www.ntid.rit.edu/alumni/reunion/

June Bugging

G'day everyone!

It's June 2008. It's summer already (whatever or not they say Summer offically arrives Friday night at 8pm, HA!). We've had the hot days, stormy days (and still got them stormy wrecking days presently), and we're still hurricane watching.

I haven't seen my june bugs yet. But trust the Lord, they'll come out soon. Seen the fire flies in the night and watching the kids scramble about to put those poor bugs in the "lantern" jar. (I caught and released them many times in my life).

*sigh*. Well, it's finally down to ONE WEEK! Just one more week of patience. The Deaf Bilingual Coalition (DBC) has been "advertising" across the e-mail of just how much of an "Excitement" it's going to be if people come to their 'conference'. The Deaf Baptist Fellowship of America (DBFA) people are *PRAYING* for many deaf Christians to come to thier Deaf Bible Conference. I have news for BOTH of those conferences: YOU BOTH LOSE!! From what I heard, The NTID 40th Reunion is expecting about more than *800* people to show up for the Reunion event on the campus of RIT!! DBC and DBFA would do a jaw dropping to say *HOW CAN THAT BE?!?!*
Loyalty. Some of us graduates of NTID are Loyal alumni of the RIT Tiger Spirit to come back and *ROAR* on the campus once more!! But we'll be there to discuss the A.G.Bell dorm name too.

Update: NTID reunion just released their final Vlog of the week. Please view it :
http://www.ntid.rit.edu/alumni/reunion/

And if any NTID alumni who still is planning to go to the reunion: GET REGISTERED, GET YOUR TRAVEL TICKET, and GOOD LUCK FINDING A HOTEL ROOM!! (most places are booked already).

On a political note: when I went to my republican re-organizational meeting last Thursday evening (without an interpreter, shame on me), I found it to be an ugly event. It was something that told me that they were really not so MOTIVATED to win this election time around because President Bush has "trashed" his own power base beyond a certain degree. Supporting McCain? I don't think so! Because McCain has said that he would continue the same type of Policies that Bush has put in place. Basically to say, McCain shouldn't have gone to the White House after winning the nomination. It was a mistake like Al Gore stayed by President Clinton's side during his impeachment days and didn't think to separate from Clinton until it was TOO LATE. For McCain.. he's too late already. The republican party might win local and state elections. But nationally? It's a huge LONG SHOT.

Well, enjoy your week everyone! We all got to get ready for our "vacation" days. Gas prices or not, it's the memories that are priceless. Yet, credit card companies are going to enjoy hearing "Ca-ching" when they get used. UGH!

Till next post: Semper FI!

Interpreter Trouble.

G'day Everyone!

Despite it's Friday the 13th, there's been trouble in the land of Interpreter Coordinators. In the Blog of RSGeo-007 has the following story : http://rsgeo007.blogspot.com/2008/06/forget-dc-tax-scam-we-got-interpreter.html

It's sad. Interpreter Coordinators have the most important jobs in mainstream schools and colleges. How can this man betray his job for something the interpreters didn't do their job correctly or lying about the hours they worked? Interpreters have the most important job in the deaf society in helping these deaf students to get along with hearing people.

If you are an interpreter coordinator out there, DO YOUR DAMN JOB RIGHT! You are in a position of trust, ethics, and responsibility. For someone to betray their job just for money, the deaf community won't forgive because the trust is lost and it takes a while to earn it back.
Interpreters have the toughest job for us. We need to work with them. They are important to us MORE than the money.

pissed at the High Court.

G'day Everyone!

In just a few hours time for me, I'll be making my first entrance into the real political life. I got elected to be a part of the local Republican Committee board last May '08's elections and tonight is the first meeting. I can't wait but I will be amazed to see how they react to having a deaf person on the board. I've been called, emailed, and snail mailed to of being asked to vote someone in to be an officer on the board. I'm playing my decision close to my vest and that's perhaps the best idea.

Sadly to say.. I wish I changed to Democratic party already. (the local political office lost my papers and that's too late now). But figured, if I can help the republican party locally, then things just might work well. I'm not too happy about John McCain. But he's just not one of the best ideas for this country.

Meanwhile, When I read today's news on CNN : http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/06/12/scotus/index.html
I have asked myself a question: Can it get any worse for those doddering old fools? Who in their right minds would put men and women on a high court bench to be so OLD and STUPID?
Just as Justice Antonin Scalia said best today : The "nation will live to regret what the court has done today," . He was supported by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

What has really transpired of this High Court Ruling that said that these DANGEROUS Terror Suspects have LEGAL RIGHTS to by-pass the military court and are allowed to come in to USA and challenge the military on grounds that their legal detention is illegal.
That's like to say: "We agree that these men and women of different countries are enemies, but we must give them due process.".

Thanks to the Supreme Court. These enemy terrorists have just been given a new power to tie up the courts for years with their endless terror of legal challenges. This Supreme Court has just created a new political mind field for themselves and in doing this, the majority of the justices ought to be told to step down and resign from the Supreme Court.

The military won't be grabbing any more enemy combatants in the field of war. The military is most likely going to be ordered to SHOOT TO KILL now, more than ever.

In the end, I think the nation would be better off if the power of appointment to the Supreme Court was taken away from the President and put in the hands of voters. That way the justices would be facing the vote just like every other political candidate. But their term ought to be limited to just 4 years instead of a life long job security of what they have now.

Our nation WILL SUFFER what this Supreme Court has done. But it will NOT help our nation at this point of our economic crisis. How much political fall out this will become, grab the pop corn and sit back. The summer drama has just begun.

Protecting your job against discrimination.

G'day Everyone!

Discrimination. It's an ugly word used every day among the hearing and the deaf on both sides of the job market. It's a horrible word. It's a word used more often than a 4 letter swear word could ever hope to break apart a person's career.

Discrimination breaks a lot of people. No matter what sexual orientation, gender, color, creed, nationality, and religious background you have, you will be discriminated. It's a proven fact because office politics play a major part in discrimination on the job.

Please read the following site: http://deafness.about.com/od/employmentandworking/qt/resolvedisc.htm

Jamie Berke has provided some wonderful information out there. Something way useful and important to learn.

But, not every one in the deaf community knows the info to use to help them on the job. Especially if you have been sexually harassed on the job. Worse yet, if there's office politics, you don't want to be a part of it!

In all my working years, I've seen some of the best and WORST companies. I won't name any organization out there. But, I can tell you this: There are bosses who care about their employees that they work with and there are bosses who don't care anyone other than the person above him and polishing that ass of theirs to get a "promotion" that they DON'T deserve to have.

I've seen many types of discrimination on the job out there. I know for a fact some employees (who are power bullies)will do a discrimination on someone and when they realize that they picked on the wrong person, who's bound to report them, and then will run to their supervisor and beg for "protection". The supervisor is most likely bound to try to intercept the report of discrimination in hopes of preventing it from reaching it's intended destination: Human Resources or the upper level management.

By doing that, the supervisor will have "the talk" with the 'abused' employee. By doing "the talk", the supervisor is doing an illegal action. Reality: Supervisor is trying to save his/her job and the employee's job from being fired by the bosses if the 'abused' employee's accusation get to them. This is known as political sweeping under the rug from the boss. But it's also unfortunate because some day, sooner or later, they're gonna wish they had both not messed with the 'abused' employee for any reason. It's illegal in any case of what the power bullies do and what supervisors do: Discrimination.

More importantly, colleges with career centers like Gallaudet University, RIT, PSU, Syracuse U (to name a few) should hold seminars and workshops to teach students on how to deal with office politics and discrimination situation. In every case, document of what happens on the job. Keep a daily diary. That's going to be your most important goal of protecting your employment should you ever have to face a legal issue.

So stop bullies in their tracks. Discrimination doesn't have to happen. By talking to human resoruces, bullies need to be reported. Your career and your employment is more important than stupid office politics and bullies.

Semper FI to Jamie Berke.

A.G Bell Dorm Discussion

G'day Everyone!

I'm still following the A.G. Bell Dorm name discussion that is happening on the NTID campus.
I pulled up the following blog :http://orangebrownrit.blogspot.com/2008/06/vlog-explaining-open-forum-at-ntid-re.html and looked at how successful the forum went.

Now the next step will be the NTID alumnus to step up to the plate at the NTID 40th Reunion and explain THEIR FEELINGS of why A.G.Bell's name should be removed or oppose the removal of the bell name and leaving it on the dorm. I think we'll all see a major discussion going on during the reunion and have a lively debate to happen. Hopefully the RIT president and Alan Hurwitz will make personal appearances and take part in the discussions. This is going to be important to the entire NTID community. With a forum happening during the reunion, it'll be the most important part of all reunions. So read the orange and brown coalition blog.

Meanwhile, someone asked me if I would comment on deafread's policy about commercial blogs and any type of promotions by bloggers about commercial web pages. I will say this: the administrators of deaf read are only DEAF HUMAN BEINGS, but we all make mistakes. Some policies are good. Some are bad. Some times, their decisions don't please a whole lot of people in the deaf community. For deaf read, we just have to remember, they're not the best, but they are trying the way to communicate everyone's blogs to everyone else.

Lastly, if anyone hasn't visited Tom Neville's website and the ASLexpo site, you ought to and find some new videos !! Be prepared for LAUGHING HARD. (ah, if you thought DEAF PAGER lawsuit was good, it gets better with VP LAWSUIT!).

So, with two weeks to go to NTID reunion days, I look forward to watching "THE WRONG GAME" again. (ah deaf fear is present! WOW!).

Stay cool and have a Semper FI day!

ALERT! The battle on the AG Bell dorm continues

G'day Everyone!

Just got alerted that that there will be a open Forum on Wednesday, June 4th, 2008 at 2pm in the CSD Student Development Center room 1300 (see the info on the web page: http://orangebrownrit.blogspot.com/2008/06/bell-dorm-open-forum-june-4th-and-o-and.html )

I would encourage any of the NTID alumni living in the Rochester, NY metro area to go to this meeting and report on it. The AG Bell dorm discussion is very important. But one thing: A.G. Bell's name on the Tower B dorm is NOT an "HONOR". It's a name of SHAME.

We still must have an open Forum during the NTID 40th Reunion. Alumni must be heard as well!

Support the name change on the Tower B dorm! REMOVE BELL's NAME!

Town Hall Meeting at Gallaudet University TODAY!

G'day Everyone!

I just got notified that there will be a Deaf Event at Gallaudet University that is being hosted by the Student Body Government (SBG) in a Town Hall Meeting about the recent crime that has hit several deaf residences along the 8th street.

Here's the info: http://pr.gallaudet.edu/dailydigest/?id=13411

It would be advisable for deaf home owners in the DC Metro area to go to this event because crime just doesn't happen on 8th street. If these thieves can find deaf residences on 8th street, just think how hard they'll look in other areas as well.

So I encourage you, if you live in the DC metro, go to this event on the campus of Gallaudet University and get info to protect your home from crime! Don't forget, the event starts at 5:30pm!

Hang on to that TTY!

G'Day Everyone!

I just found a good use for that TTY that's collecting dust. Just hang on to it. It may become your life saver in your family!

This web page explains the reasons why you should keep your TTY:
https://www.hovrs.com/e911/index.html

The information was being passed around in my e-mail. I rather have it posted on the blog so that everyone gets a chance to see it instead of a "chain-mail" type of thing.

So there's still life for that TTY, as a 911 safety device! Hang on to it. Worth it!

DBC vs. NTID Reunion.

G'day Everyone!

It continues to dominate in the blog world that the Deaf Bilingual Coalition is gearing up to bring some major excitement in at it's conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin during June 27 - 30th which will be in a direct conflict with the NTID 40th Reunion scheduled for June 26-28th.

As DBC made it's new announcement: http://www.dbcusa.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=34

It becomes clear that the Deaf Community will have a choice of events to go to this June 2008.

I found out that at the same time, the Deaf Baptist Fellowship of America (DBFA for short) is hosting a Deaf Bible Conference in Oklahoma City, OK on June 23-27th, 2008. (For info: http://www.dbfa.net/ about the DBFA).

In short: it's going to be a very busy end of June 2008 for almost any one to choose where they want to go for a "vacation". The clock is ticking. Hotels are booking and in some places SOLD OUT is the main word of the day.

Whatever event you go to, even if it's not listed here, I hope you will enjoy your summer 2008 as it's already started!! pack your suntan lotion and plenty of Gas money for your car!
