Happy 2nd year SHERLOCK!

G'day Everyone!

It is the 2nd anniversary of THE DEAF SHERLOCK on Blogspot.com. I had hoped that by this day, I would be at my 500th post by now. Unfortunately, life gets busy at times and some days, I don't even post when I don't have any material to use. Normally I would celebrate, but I refuse to do so and just wanted to let you all know that it's 2 years since I restored this blog and transferred it from Xanga.com As I've said before, the security is better and so are the defenses.

Sadly, Pittsburgh Steelers lost yesterday. But the Eagles won. I just heard that my friend's beloved baseball team, The NEW YORK YANKEES have won their title again by beating their nemesis team: The Boston Red Soxs. What a sweet game! The Philadelphia Phillies are closing in on their own title and could have it later this week. We got a HOT OCTOBER POST BASEBALL SEASON coming up! This is going to get WAY INTERESTING!!

Don't forget to go to Bloomsburg Fair this week in Bloomsburg, PA! It's the annual State of PA Fair! I went to it today with my sister Debbie Scott. We are tired but did a lot of walking, even in the rain! The Fair is very much interesting this year. Lots of shows, games, and of course FOOD! My sister Debbie said "Here at the Fair, there a real possibility that you can eat yourself to the death here!". I have to concur with that very much. So I checked myself wisely. But you can't miss the Top of the Beef pit, A seafood shack (ahh 2 dozen clams), and don't forget the best ice cream in the whole fair place, The Penn State Creamery!

So take some time this week and GO to the Bloomsburg Fair in Bloomsburg, PA! One *WARNING* and suggestion, wear some OLD walking shoes because most of the parking lots right now is a SEA OF MUD! *ick!*

And as we hit the middle of the week, The last finalist candidate for the President of Gallaudet University will be speaking at Gallaudet University on September 30th and October 1st, 2009.
Dr. Alan Hurwitz will be on campus both days. After that, the entire community of Gallaudet Community (including the alumni) will be voting. Let's hope the best choice gets selected.

If you haven't voted in the poll above this post, VOTE NOW!

Have a great SEMPER FI day!

Becareful when doing Mass Emailing.

G'day Everyone.

Some one attempted to do some mass emailing to a list of people of whom he thought were the right confidential people to write to. He thought his wording in his email was done correctly.

Unfortunately, THAT PERSON WAS WRONG! His mass email hit one person who mis-understood his email contents. It created a very bad and unintended situation for himself. There is a very possibility that I will be taking legal action against this person in the near future.

So, as a *WARNING* and suggestion for many people out there:
Using your emails is a privilege that is provided by your Internet providers. A single mistake of an email with confidential contents that goes to the wrong person who misunderstands it and causes the situation to go out of control could wind up in court in which not only the court will order your email privileges taken away, but your Internet provider could ban you permanently from their services.

Please, check your list of people of who you have on your email list. Ask a trusted friend (single email) to review your email before you send it out in a mass email. Please be careful how you write. The lessons provided here will prevent future trouble for yourselves.

Lions Slayed by Hawkeyes.

G'day Everyone.

It was a sad, wet, and cold night as fur pelts of the Nittany Lions were strewn across the field. This was done by the talons of the Iowa Hawkeyes as PSU QB Darryl Clark made more mistakes than he could ever do. If PSU was to ever save it's season, Darryl Clark should hang up his helmet and walk away. This was a young man who had his head in the game early and did great. But in the end, he mentally fell apart and should have taken himself out. Even Coach Paterno should have pulled him sooner. Last year's game at Iowa was worse. This was bad.
Darryl Clark MUST GO! BOOT HIM! Both the Offense and Defense did their best jobs. But PSU could have done more better and prepared MORE HARDER.

Needless to say, Iowa shouldn't have packed on the insult at all in the closing moments. It's like packing on last year's win as well to the lions. Hopefully, heavy security will be provided for the Iowa Hawkeyes to leave happy valley. Iowa better be careful down the road as other big ten teams will gun for them now. Sharp talons? Not! Most of their feathers were plucked out by the Lions. They're bald as they are already.

The PSU will be facing Illinois next week. It is my recommendation as well as thousands of PSU fans and PSU alumni across the nation should tell Joe "Joe-PA" Paterno one thing: BENCH DARRYL CLARK FOR 3 games. He's played enough. Start a NEW QB! No more Darryl Clark!

No semper FI for PSU!

SOAKING SATURDAY!

G'day Everyone!

It's a WILD and WET SATURDAY out there in some places. High school football games got played Friday night.
Today, Gallaudet Bisons WON a game! They beat Castleton State College by a score of 49-18. They spoiled the Castleton home coming! WHOO! The Bisons record is now: Wins 2 - Loss 2. (even record). Next Saturday, there will be Gallaudet University's FIRST HOME GAME of the season. Gallaudet will host Husson College on Oct 3rd at 12:oopm.

Tonight: Penn State University Nittany Lions will be hosting the Iowa University Hawkeyes at 8 PM on ABC TV! And please do not adjust your TV SET! Yes the fans will be wearing WHITE tonight to create a SNOW BLIZZARD in the stadium!

One more thing.. PREPARE FOR A FULL REVENGE MODE TIMES 2! Last year, PSU's Quarter back was no where near himself during the game at Iowa University. PSU lost an important game that could have put them into contention for the national championship. A source tells me the PSUs quarterbacks had better be playing SMART tonight. This will be very important. PSU is currently riding on a 3-0 record so far!

I know my post is a bit late today (shame on me), but if you are reading this and you head to Happy Valley tonight, be aware of EXTRA SECURITY MEASURES in place. It's Security overkill and it's not fun. So please don't taunt the nice policemen. Be there early as possible. From what I hear.. they want fans seated by 7:30pm SHARP! It will be cold and rainy. Will the hawkeyes be ready? I doubt that!

Finally, my post is in honor of my long time friend, who broke up with me over a big misunderstanding this week. It is my hope the person involved, who sent out a mass email to him and several friend of mine, for trying to out another friend of mine for being gay, will come forward and take responsibility for what he did because he has a lot to explain for himself in person. (meaning, he has to travel to PA in person). It has been an ugly week.

Until later, I wish you all a SEMPER FI! ENJOY TONIGHT'S FOOTBALL GAME ON ABC TV!

Killers should DIE in prison

G'day Everyone!

Move over Scotland. Mercy isn't for everyone. Though Scotland has been put on the hot seat ever since the Lockerbie bomber was released and now dying in Libya, Gadafi has been hated so much more when he spoke at the United Nations earlier this week. But the Lockerbie bomber ought to be told that his cruel end should have ended in death in PRISON!

Why? Because today, it was told that the infamous Mason Family killer, Susan Atkins, finally died. Link: http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/09/25/california.manson.atkins/index.html . Though, Susan Atkins was shown sympathy, the parole board would NOT release her. That's because they, The parole board, couldn't afford a "Lockerbie public relations mess" themselves. But one thing is important: Justice was shown to be done. Susan Atkins didn't see the light of freedom sun again. She has gone on to the Higher judgement seat.

That is where the Lockerbie bomber should be now. Dying in prison where he belongs. Instead, he will die in a hospital bed soon.

The rest of the Mason family will pass on one day. Only time will tell.

MOVE OVER NTID and GU! Here's competition!

G'day Everyone.

Didn't think this was going to happen but LO and BEHOLD: Another Deaf College!
Link: http://www.newswest9.com/Global/story.asp?S=11188155

When you read the link, it's all about the Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf (SWCID). The link to Howard College SWCID: http://www.howardcollege.edu/swcid/

Which means what?! Gallaudet University and The National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) formally have competition! It's no longer Gallaudet vs NTID. It's now a trio of deaf colleges that are in a formal battle for deaf students to attend their campus. Will this be a good thing? YES. I believe Howard College has done the right thing for deaf students on their campus. This gives deaf students in high school more choices of where to attend for further education.

So move over, NTID. Look out Gallaudet. There's a new kid on the block.

Cheeers to SWCID! May there be wonderful years to come.

Thank you to the person who emailed me about it.

Fall 2009

G'day Everyone!

It was the first day of Fall 2009. We are really one month from history day at Gallaudet University in which the next President of Gallaudet University will be announced.

Let me give you a run-down of our finalists that are to speak or have spoken at Galludet University.

Of Dr. Weiner. I still feel that he should resign his position as provost and make it look clear that he doesn't have a conflict of interest in this position. I feel he does NOT have the support of the entire Gallaudet Community. I remember what sparked the 2006 protest. Weiner shouldn't be in this position at all. If he was another candidate outside of Gallaudet, I would have picked him.

Also, Dr. Weiner shouldn't have gone first as if having the "home field" advantage here. He should have been put DEAD LAST in the list of interviews. He already has spoken.

Dr. Stern didn't grab any of my interest when I read his bio. (read it again if you must http://psac.gallaudet.edu/PSAC/Final_Candidates_2009/Stern.html). Dr. Stern is the 2nd farthest person away from the Gallaudet University area. I would have put him to be interviewed SECOND. He will have his interview on September 23-24, 2009.

Dr. Alan Hurwitz. This man is a wonderful educator and a leader at NTID. I feel that he should remain at NTID and continue leading the deaf community in Rochester area. He is more needed where he is than at Gallaudet University. It makes no sense WHY Hurwitz would want to leave NTID when he is doing his best job in Rochester. The only reason I could think is, he hates the winter! It does get DAMN COLD in Rochester! Oh, how the winds howl on the quarter mile in the winter time at RIT. At the same time, I would have put Dr. Hurwitz THIRD on the list of interviews because he's within driving/ flying distance to Gallaudet University.

Link: http://psac.gallaudet.edu/PSAC/Final_Candidates_2009/Hurwitz.htmlHurwitz will speak on September 30th- October 1st, 2009.

Dr. Rosa Rosen: Link: http://psac.gallaudet.edu/PSAC/Final_Candidates_2009/Rosen.html
Dr. Rosen should have been interviewed FIRST. Why? Not only she's a woman (which is respectful of gender to do), but she's also the farthest of all candidates on the list. She's from the "I-OWE-U"deadbeat state of California. (they still owe money out there). Dr. Rosen was speaking on campus.

So PSAC should have revised the order of interview list as this:

Rosen, Stern, Hurwitz, Weiner. It would be the proper order of things rather than PSAC showing off Weiner as one of their own people on the Gallaudet University campus. It makes Weiner look like having "Home Field Advantage".

After looking over the bios of these candidates, I made a decision to support ONLY ONE candidate. ONLY ONE. That's it. Want to know who it is?

Dr. Rosa Rosen.

I feel this candidate would be the BEST LEADER to become President of Gallaudet University. Gallaudet's future is on the line. It's time for a REAL PRESIDENT of Gallaudet. I believe Rosa Rosen is the one. She should lead Gallaudet into the 21st century of Deaf Education.

Check my poll numbers above this post. She's already beating out Hurwitz, Stern, and Weiner (Weiner is dead last). The numbers don't lie. Dr. Rosa Rosen is already a favorite among the deaf community of Gallaudet University. I hope the PSAC recommends that to the Gallaudet Board of Trustees.

One other note: I am thankful to Gallaudet Board of Trustee, Dr. Harvey Goodstein, has the common sense to recuse himself from the remainder of the Presidential Search process. That's because Dr. Rosa Rosen is his sister. Dr. Goodstein did the right thing and showing support for his sister in the RIGHT way. Salute to Dr. Goodstein!

As the seasons change, the days will turn cold. Leaves will fall. Indian Summer will soon happen to give us one last enjoyment of the warm sun before it gives away to old man winter. I'm in hopes Indian Summer will happen around Oct 9-11 when I go camping at Knoebels Grove for the end of the summer amusement park events. It's kind of fun camping among the leaves.

I don't know if I will have a chance to do my leaf pile this year, but maybe I will. Who knows?

So enjoy the first day of Fall 2009. Semper FI.

Moody Monday Football.

G'day Everyone!

Unless you are like me, it's moody Monday. Why? That's where arm chair quarter backs are pretty much upset that their favorite team (college and NFL) have lost over the weekend. PSU won, GU lost, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia lost as well. One friend was taunting on FB of how much he enjoys to live in PA but supports the ravens. Unfortunately, if he lays low at work today, he might survive his job if he doesn't get FIRED. (his boss is a big Steelers and Eagles fan). I wish him luck.

As I said in my last post about how I hate teams that want to go for shut out and blow outs, I was questioning if there was any MERCY left in the sport of Football in High school level.

Well, if you didn't catch my update, then read on to this HEART WARMING story that really helps everyone for a good cause.

Football gone wild!

G'day Everyone.

Here it is, another football games of Friday night High School, Saturday's college games, and Sunday's NFL games to happen.

But when you consider Friday night High School football, check out one school in Florida that made the Yahoo news page:
http://highschool.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=989089

You tell me if MERCY existed in this coach or not. It was clear to me that last year his team was beaten. This year he was all bent out for revenge and ignored the "mercy rule". In my opinion he was just insane. I'm in hopes that his athletics director does one thing first before the school board calls him in a meeting: Take him out of the game for the rest of the high school football season before the parents decides to withdraw their kid. There's no way this coach can explain his spin on the game. He's out of a job before he knows it.

No coach should try to drive the score up so far high and beyond. Not even in college. It should have been an excessive penalty for it. Once you get beyond the first 40 points and 1/4 of way through 3rd quarter, the coach that is very ahead ought to stop the game for a *GAME PAUSE* and ask the coach of the losing team to officially conclude the game. It would demonstrate good sportsmanship and kindness to show for the other team.

But no, coaches are POWER MAD that want to win and win hard. They'll do anything to beat the other team that they lost to before. Even a new team they're playing.

Coaches ought to remember one thing, if you rub in the previous losing year on your rival coach, expect revenge and to be wiped out. Yes, it does happen in High School, College, and NFL games often.

Meanwhile, PSU is considering that they might rename Beaver Stadium to the Joe Paterno stadium. And you know, that's a proper honor for a man that has lead the PSU teams for many years through the good and bad games. Paterno has built a legacy that will be unmatched for ages to come. The next coach of the PSU would have very hard shoes to fill. But hopefully, PSU will win one more ROSE BOWL Trophy for PA JOE! They should have a good game this weekend.

The mighty Bisons of GU are in Vermont this weekend and playing against Mount Ida College. Will the Bisons win this week and improve 2-1 or fall to 1-2? Only the football will tell. GO BISONS!

So, as I'm watching the football games on the 'net and tv from my arm chair (and quarterbacking the quarterback), I expect the coaches to tell their team to play for respect, sportsmanship, and honor. They should enjoy the game they play because they are in it. But any coach that uses this game for revenge upon the other coach, I would petition that school to remove him and install the one that plays with respect and honor.

As another great fall weekend begins, Semper FI!

Update: I wanted to stick this in here to show that one such school does desire to show mercy for a losing team, just because of a SPECIAL kid with Special needs wants to play football. This is the BEST STORY ever for a high school football game. Please read:

G'day Everyone.

Many people are crying over an American hot heart throb. Patrick Swayze has passed away. Link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090915/ap_on_en_mo/us_obit_swayze

Patrick Swayze was a wonderful actor. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Patrick.

YOU LIE! / Caption Action 2

G'day Everyone!

I waited for awhile before I went and posted on this controversial topic. It was just last week that I watched the President Obama speak about Health Care Reform. When President Obama said that NO illegal Immigrants would get health care coverage, it was then that Representative Joe Wilson shouted "YOU LIE!" out loud. That man became the famous person in the nation to ever repeat what every voter has said to the President on TV as he spoke. "YOU LIE!".

How many Presidents and Political people in office has lied to this country for how long? Ever since the day the first pilgrims landed in this new world people began to lie to retain power. But seeing and hearing Representative Joe Wilson stand up in the heat of the moment, I would want this man to run for office in 2012! If the House Democrats plan to censure Wilson this week, it will be their biggest mistake that will make a complete political turmoil for both parties this fall.

Let's face it. Joe Wilson has apologized and the President accepted it. If Congress leaders punishes Wilson, they'd best be prepared for more fall out. Latest news on Wilson: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/13/wilson.no.apology/index.html

Meanwhile, there's a call of more support that is needed for people to join caption action 2. For details on Caption Action 2, please go to: http://captionaction2.blogspot.com/

Lately, I have been working on this blog and doing a bit of updates. I recently took out a few bloggers that have not written in their blogs for over a year. I'm looking for replacements at this time. If anyone has suggestions, email me.

Otherwise, have a great week!!

Disappointing Weekend.

G'day Everyone.

Well, life handed me lemons and it was bitter and sour. It was the worst I ever tasted in a long time. It was a day that neither Videophones, Instant Messaging (IMing), or social networking (like twitter, myspace, Facebook) could replace the want of real live human social contact.

Yesterday, it was suppose to be a day that the Williamsport Deaf Community would get back together and discuss about having a deaf social club again. Unfortunately, only about 6 of us showed up for the meeting. It was a *HUGE FLOP*. I really started to feel like the deaf community of Williamsport wasn't pulling back together since the day the Lycoming Valley Association for the Deaf (LVAD) shut it's doors a few years ago. I did feel we had a chance to bounce back, but nope. Everyone may had headed for the big cities like, Scranton, Allentown, Erie, Harrisburgh, Philly, or Pittsburgh. Add in to that frustration with my job hunting which has been sour for a long time.

After the meeting, I went to the Lions Club Chicken BBQ. I didn't help this time because of the deaf meeting. Picked up two chicken dinners and brought them home. urgh, chicken was.. well, DRIED up! (tosses dead chicken to the basket) Well, I was sinking in lonesome stuff and thought the movie would cheer me up. It didn't. My Saturday day sank more when fireworks went off near my home. Turns out that I missed the annual Montoursville Fall Festival. *augh*. Lovely isn't it?

Speaking of pounding, Yesterday's football games: Penn State beat Syracuse University. SU got lucky and saved themselves from a shut out. But still PSU won. Gallaudet University won a rare game against Hiram College.

Today, my bad day has continued. 3 friends dropped me for no reason. I shrugged it off to say if that's what you want to do, that's fine. But then it made me wish that I could travel out in person and talk to them of why. What choice would that do?

It made me realize that Williamsport, PA is indeed a dead town as some say it is. It made me want to double my efforts to find a job outside of the Williamsport area so that I can move and work in that new location. I want to move so that I can join a vibrant deaf community and make new friends. It is a struggle. But when I do move, I hope it will be day that I can have a house welcome party to invite friends to and enjoy.

But for those who read this today, I'm going to give a little suggestion. Spend some time with your friend in your area. NOT by AIM, yahoo, or any type of IMing. Not by videophone. Get out and make some HUMAN CONTACT with your friend(s). Get off your chair after you read this post. Go text them and say "let's go to dinner, or a movie (hopefully open caption), or a bar, or whatever what you choose to do." You will never know how much grateful they will appreciate you to make their day. A little investment of time with your friend(s) promotes a longer time of Friendship. Don't wait until your friend(s) is in the hospital or worse. If and when they die, you will regret in life that you didn't spend a little time in person with them. Their passing should make you ask yourself WHY you became their friend in the first place. Friends are special people in life. Without them, life gets too boring.

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest today.

Semper FI.

Update on Sept 23: two more "friends" decided to break up with me with out any warning or discussion. It was just *boom*. Well, it's been tracked back to one friend who influenced another and it looked like from then on, it was going to be a cascade effect. So in effect, I made a pre-emptive strike to prevent some others from getting in touch with me until the storm passes. if those who are real friends to me and will take a open hand to discuss true friendship with me, I may well let them back in my life. Right now, just surrounded in pain for the moment. I know it will pass.

The Shades of Fall 2009

G'day Everyone.

There's a small part of me that wishes that I was on a college campus again and hitting the books. It's no fun going to school. But people do it for a reason. One has to believe in hopes that employment will happen the moment you graduate from that college / university. But like many of the millions of people who are out of work here in the USA, the job market has been tougher than ever. Since 2007, it has been a very bad job market. What happens if you graduate from that school and no job happens? Then you have a very expensive loans that *HAVE TO BE PAID BACK* pronto. Not an easy thing to do for anyone out there.

As much as I'd like to go back to college for one more degree, I just don't know. Money wise, I'm better off not going back. I've done my time. But I am going to keep up the job search as much as I can. NTID has a job fair on October 14, 2009. There's a diversity job fair happening in Washington DC in November.

Gallaudet has a job fair on September 30th, 2009. That is to say IF THERE'S NO PROTEST happening at Gallaudet University against the selection of the next president. Many of us job seekers remember the day of Fall 2006 when the protesters took over the campus gates and disrupted Gallaudet University. It effectively damaged Gallaudet University's relations with the area employers who want to hire alumni and graduates of Gallaudet University. Since then, President Davila has already issued a threat of arrests if another protest happens this fall. While many of us do not like the choices that the PSAC has given this campus, it will be a critical moment in history for Gallaudet University that the right person is selected. It is not a popular vote. It must be done correctly. Let's hope things goes well by the time Homecoming 2009 happens.

Enjoy the weekend. Semper FI!

Tell the truth if someone's dying.

G'day Everyone!

First read this link:
http://www.parentdish.com/2009/09/08/mother-never-told-dying-daughter-end-was-near/

This is what I hate about parents who don't want to deliver the awful life ending news to a kid of their own. Any kid from 13 years old and on up, is mature enough to know to hear of what's going on in their lives around them. Every kid ought to be warned every day that they are NOT indestructible as they think they are. They are fragile kids.

But when a parent doesn't tell their own kid about their kid's impending death, I think they have done a disservice to them. More importantly, it's murder of kindness. To hide something for so long to keep their kid worry free of the world, I disagree. When a kid dies unexpectedly, I feel that this kid must have felt not only a betrayal of trust of their parent, but being unprepared for what happens when death comes for them. How ugly does it get? Very.

Just like the chick tract I posted below in my blog (beneath the poll, or better yet, go to Link:
http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0001/0001_01.asp), that's called "this was your life".
It gives you a clear understanding and warning of what happens to every soul in the world that dies, unprepared. Every soul on earth faces Jesus. Life is recorded as it is. Without Jesus Christ as a savior, no body gets into heaven because of sin. I feel this young girl was unprepared for her own death. Her mother must have thought by leaving her unprepared for death, God would have mercy on her. Sadly, she is mistaken. How interesting will she react when she finds out about her daughter when she dies herself.

A dozen years ago, an old family doctor of my dad's refused to tell my father that he was dying of an aggressive form of lung cancer. He told my dad this: "Everything is fine with you". It wasn't until a problem at home had to make him to go to the hospital for treatment. That is where the next doctor realized my dad's aggressive form of lung cancer also. BUT, she didn't want to upset my dad as well. So she told my dad, "Don't worry, it's a SLOW growing lung cancer". Everyone thought the doctor was right that my dad had time to plan his life's options for the cure of lung cancer. Only did I feel he wasn't preparing for the unexpected course of events to happen. I tried to discuss it with him. But he said "I trust the doctors, and I trust the Catholic Church".

Several months later, another hospital event happened. This time, a different doctor made the RIGHT and TRUTHFUL DECISION to tell my dad the awful news: "You got an aggressive form of lung cancer. I don't know why the previous doctor and your old doctor didn't tell you this sooner! I don't like what I see of it.". I looked on the shocked face of my father. They were going to start chemotherapy right away in the next morning. But, it would be that very night that my father would die of this lung cancer. I'm sure he was shocked by the betrayal of both his doctors and the church.

In the weeks after that, I had courage to ask the hospital to dismiss the doctor that failed to tell my dad the awful truth in the first place. She spoke to say that she wasn't going to upset my dad. I told her "It is better to prepare a patient for their last days on earth rather than letting them die unexpectedly. My father trusted you and in this health care system. You, that represents that health care system itself, FAILED him.". The hospital dismissed her completely from the job. She took another job in another state till she got fired there as well.

My dad's old doctor didn't take the news well when the state of PA acted on my complaint to revoke his license. He died unexpectedly. Another doctor examined his all of his records of patients and several had to be "rescued" from impending deaths. Most were saved and cured.

Not too long ago, when I talked with my current doctor, I told him "Doctor, I want you to know that I TRUST YOU NOT TO BETRAY ME. But DO TELL ME THE TRUTH if I have something of a serious situation that might end my life. By telling me the truth, it is so that I can prepare for events to come.". He looked at me and realized that I was very serious about it.

I don't want to die unexpected. But prepared for it, I am. I could die any day God determines of. Same as you are, my dear reader. Remember my post, "Live as if Dying". http://thedeafsherlock.blogspot.com/2009/06/live-as-if-dying.html .

The Poll is open!

G'day Everyone!

I said previously that I was going to set up a poll and I have. It is below this post. From now till October 14, 2009, I suggest people to vote their choice of WHO they think is the BEST candidate to be the NEXT president of Gallaudet University. Please vote!

If you got questions for the Presidential Search Advisory Committee, pop an email to:

Recently, another hacker has attempted to scam me and several others through a friend of mine. I gave him another "FIRE and BRIMSTONE" sermon on the net before blocking my friend's IM and then sent a encrypted email to my friend and hopefully she will be able to get her computer fixed.

As Swine and Flu season start this fall, I ask many of my readers to avoid being sick by keeping your hands WASHED and WASHED often! Nobody doesn't deserve to get sick with swine flu. But it's a bad year for this. (and I thought bird flu was worse during Bushie boy's time).

Enjoy the Labor day weekend. Don't forget to vote in the poll below this post!

Labor Day Weekend 2009

(started this earlier today. Had to go out. This update and posting now)
G'day everyone!

I hope everyone will be enjoying this wonderful first FALL 2009 weekend. Labor Day weekend is kind of a official start to fall. All of the colleges, universities, and schools have opened for the year.
Football, that is if you count NFL, College, and High School games, is back and most of us men are ready to be "arm chair quarterback coaches" again. It should be a good season.

Speaking of Football: Today's the day for the big games! The Football Season for Gallaudet University Bisons will open the first game at 1pm on the Hotchkiss Field. The Bisons will be playing against U.S. Merchant Marines. Will Coach Hottle be sucessful this year without our Bison Drum again? We'll know soon enough! GO BISONS!
(Update: Bisons took a BIG first game loss to the Merchant Marines. Final score GU 14 - Merchant Marines 38. The Bisons will travel to Hiram University next week)

Also, this Football season will be very important for Gallaudet Bisons to have a winning season. Here's a reason why: http://www.gallaudetathletics.com/news/2009-10/racedrake By the time homecoming hits on Oct 22-25, it will be the 75th Homecoming year at Gallaudet University. So hope that the Bisons will still have a winning season to happen!

The Football season also opens for the Penn State Nittany Lions as well. The Nittay Lions take on the Akron Zips at Beaver Stadium at also 1pm. But it will be broadcasted on the Big Ten Network. (I wish I got that cable channel, damn it!).
Update: Just found out that PSU beat Akron by a score of 31-7! GO PSU!!
Next week: PSU vs Syracuse Orange! (Syracuse University!) GO PSU!!

Earlier today, I updated a post on my blog to include another link to a web page. Please see:

Meanwhile, earlier this week, I was pretty angry. A hacker/scammer struck at two close friends of mine on both AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) and Yahoo Instant Messenger (YIM). The hacker/scammer tried to scam me for some HUGE money. I got a very suspecting feeling it was not my friend on that Instant Messenger. So I asked some huge challenges to see if it was my friend or not. It wasn't and I promptly had to NUKE AIM/YIM of my friend and I emailed my friend to let him/her know what happened. But the damage was severe for my friends. The hacker had struck at them first and shook them both down for money. Right now, we're trying our best to find where this hacker/scammer lives so we can sue and get this person(s) in Prison. It's a very bad situation.

While the presidential candidates have been announced announced, http://news.gallaudet.edu/News/Presidential_search_finalists_selected.html
I'm going to run a poll for the next 30 days. Everyone ought to decide WHO thinks will be the best candidate to be for President of Gallaudet University. Everyone, Especially the alumni, should vote. And if you got questions for the Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC), email them at: psac@gallaudet.edu . I did earlier this week and I'm waiting for a response soon.

This weekend, I'm trying out a new digital hearing aid. My experience so far? It's interesting. I still haven't made up my mind if it's going to be my next hearing aid. But I've been advised not to go for the Cochlear Implants. That eased my mind a bit. But it's a last resort down the road later.

So, as it's Labor Day weekend 2009, I hope everyone will relax and enjoy the holiday. Till Tuesday, I wish you a Semper FI!

Ben and Jerry's Ice cream

G'day everyone..

While the blogs and the deaf community rage over the announcement made by GU, it will be a lot of discussion happening between now and the final announcement day.

Meanwhile, check this coming out of Ben and Jerry's Ice cream:

http://www.slashfood.com/2009/09/01/ben-and-jerrys-celebrates-gay-marriage-in-vermont?icid=mainverizondl3link6http%3A%2F%2Fwww.slashfood.com%2F2009%2F09%2F01%2Fben-and-jerrys-celebrates-gay-marriage-in-vermont

I prefer more of Gay UNIONS than Gay Marriages. I'm watching the stores now to see if the ice cream shows up. When it does.. I'm keep one for my unusual things collection.

Breaking news: GU announces Candidates for GU President.

G'day Everyone!

Breaking news: Look on the following web page: http://psac.gallaudet.edu/
It was released moments after the announcements were made in the GUKCC auditorium (I watched via web cast), and I was saddened that the Presidential Search Advisory Committee has learned NOTHING from the 1988 and 2006 protests.

How could Gallaudet University's future hang in the balance of the new century? Look at the 4 finalists:

Dr. Stephen F. Weiner, Provost of Gallaudet University.
(bio link:
This man should STEP DOWN and STEP DOWN NOW! This is why Jane K. Fernandes put in her name and it set off the 2006 protest. Why should Weiner be different? If he wants to be President of Gallaudet, then he MUST RESIGN NOW! Effective Immediately! This is stupid. Choosing another provost to be president?! Has PSAC LOST THEIR MINDS?!

Dr. Roslyn Rosen.
(bio link: http://psac.gallaudet.edu/PSAC/Final_Candidates_2009/Rosen.html )
Old news and former candidate from the last process. Why did she make this round this time? Was it worth to consider her? I say: REJECT! (punted down the field goal range to the dust bin of history).

Dr. Ronald J. Stern:
(bio link: http://psac.gallaudet.edu/PSAC/Final_Candidates_2009/Stern.html)
same old same old. Previous candidate from the last process. Worth to consider it? NO! (punted as well).

Finally, the biggest shocks are ripping through NOT ONLY the Gallaudet Community, but THROUGH THE NTID COMMUNITY.
Dr. Alan Hurwitz?!?! You have got to be kidding me! It's a stun of betrayal in the NTID community.
(bio link: http://psac.gallaudet.edu/PSAC/Final_Candidates_2009/Hurwitz.html)

I was hit with IMs galore and my VP rang on and on and people ask me if it was true that Dr. Alan Hurwitz was considering of stepping down to become President of Gallaudet University. As much as I could gather my wits and being shocked, I'm very much saddened. I'm personally sending Hurwitz an email and personally making an appeal for him to remain being PRESIDENT OF NTID. He does a FANTASTIC JOB THERE!

Gallaudet University does NOT need a second NTID President to become a Gallaudet University President. Dr. Davila is ENOUGH.

Is cronyism still running though the Board of Trustees that were hand picked by the previous Jordan administration? Is cronyism among the members of the PSAC that have forgotten of what happened at the 2006 announcement of the President? Was it a short sight to pick Davila quickly as a temporary administrator and now being president? Has the GU BOTS learned NOTHING from the History of Gallaudet? Is Thomas Gallaudet rolling in his grave?

As I said before and warned that the Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC) needs to find FRESH and INDEPENDENT candidates who are NOT linked to: Gallaudet, Davila, Jordan, NTID/RIT, and CSUN. I give big fat grade of *F*! They have failed to their job correctly. FAILED!

Will Gallaudet go down in history by the time the final announcement comes? Only time will tell.

No semper fi today.. I'm too angry and spitting nails.

Update: Gallaudet wasted no time today and released a press release right to the Washginton Post. Link: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/02/AR2009090202944.html
