Farewell Gary Coleman

G'day Everyone.

It hurts in the acting world these days. Especially when a young person like Gary Coleman just suddenly died. Gary Coleman was just 42 years old. Count it: 42! It just reminds everyone of how fragile life is.
Link: http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/TV/05/28/obit.gary.coleman/index.html?hpt=T2

As Gary Coleman passes on, the world will miss his talents and his jokes. Such a unique actor he is. Even if he's a very cute guy there. *wink*

God bless Gary Coleman. Rest in peace. Gary would want you to please good care of yourselves. That would be his fondest wish for you all to do in his memory.

Semper FI salute to Gary Coleman.

Deaf Hood, Deaf Hate Crimes, and etc.

G'day Everyone.

A lot of things are happening on DeafRead.com lately. Mike McConnell is under a huge firestorm for his take on Deafhood. Me, I've been sitting on the fence and being neutral about it. Everyone is still argue about deafhood a lot lately. So forgive me if I don't take part in that debate of it.

As Summer is about to begin next week, some interested people have been asking me to come to Las Vegas for the Deaf Nation Expo. I turned them down. It's not because I don't want to go. It's a number of other things that are going on for me. One of them is job searching.

Lately, crimes against the deaf community are happening more often. To hear about a hearing person run down two deaf people intentionally with their truck was *SHOCKING* in Indiana! Link: http://www.theindychannel.com/news/23649087/detail.html. I know that it's hurting a lot of people in the deaf community when we hear or know of someone getting hurt.
UPDATE: I was just informed that it wasn't a hate crime situation, but a poor son-of-a-bitch who didn't take his medicines and had an episode which will make him liable for more charges. Pray for those that were injured in this tragic accident.

Speaking of that, I personally know that two of my close deaf friends have been changed by medicine very much! I speak of their social personality changing. Last fall, I had a long time close friend of mine of which we were chatting very often. We were looking at camping to do in October. But in September, his doctor put him on a different medicine. Suddenly, my friend became a DIFFERENT PERSON! I was shocked! Whatever has changed him, I'm sure people took notice. Losing a long time friend to a medical prescription is something of a concern. At least I thought that was a RARE event in my life.

I was wrong. A few months ago, the love of my life, who had an allergy problem, went to his doctor for some help. Suddenly, he also had his personality changed! And it's been like this for a while! I am really wondering what doctors and drug companies are doing with their medicines lately?? If it happens to one more friend of mine that's close to me, I am really going to be concerned!! Anyone else have that problem too with their friends on medicine? We should be concerned.

Speaking of deaf hood a bit more, I am living in a local deaf community which is pretty hostile to me. WHY? I'm not from a group home. I'm not from a deaf school. and I'm not pure deaf either. Mostly I don't sign pure ASL either. *GO FIGURE*. It doesn't matter to them since I've earned degrees from NTID and Gallaudet, which are two famous deaf institutions. So why should it concern that someone come from a deaf school or deaf group home, be able to speak pure ASL, and must be pure deaf? That's a question I have. For one thing is, we are all commonly human. We all need the friends that we can get with-in our deaf community. Even hearing people too. For if we don't reach out to help each other in the time of need, we won't be able to establish the true bonds of friendship.

So, in a last word of the post, it goes for Mike McConnell:

Mike, I'm personally speaking to you on behalf of others. I'm giving you some free, unsolicited advice. Here it is:
1st, get rid of your anger.
2nd, don't take it out on the deaf community. Because the more you piss off your readers and followers, the more you will find out that nobody is going to read you ever again.
3rd, apologize and do post it.
4th. get counseling.

Your posts are great, mike, but whatever has changed you and made you angry, direct it else where, but not at us!

Thank you.

Till next post, SEMPER FI!

Andrew Cuomo for Governor of NY?

G'day Everyone.

The people of New York State (NYS), even former NYS people (which I am for one), have long memories of the most trouble-some years of Governorships of New York. When Mario Cuomo was Governor of New York, it became clear that he would destroy the businesses of New York by adding more and more taxes every year. Especially in the gas tax area. Every business and people moved AWAY from New York State. The New York State entered it's own personal recession that has never recovered itself since then.
At the same time, Mario Cuomo stayed in political power, election year after election year. Until finally, the people had enough. One massive and angry landslide vote made Mario Cuomo flee the New York State under the cover of darkness for the greener political fields that he could be safe in.

Since then, the people of NYS felt better but have had a long road of a rough economic life. It's still bad in various places, even in this recession.

Now, today's news came with an announcement: Link: http://www.aolnews.com/politics/article/andrew-cuomo-announces-campaign-for-ny-governor/19487636

In short: Andrew Cuomo wants his father's Governor job. If he thinks he's going to win that, he better think again: SERIOUSLY! Andrew does not realize the implications of what his father has done to the New York State long ago. Andrew does not have a chance at all. Not even winning 3/4th of the support from the people of New York State.

I would suggest to Andrew Cuomo this: Walk away. Your name is already tarnished and people will reject you with anger. If you win the election, you will fight an uphill battle that will not be worth it all. New York State doesn't need another Governor named "Cuomo". It needs a Governor that will work to economically improve New York. It needs to find a way to bring back people and business. It needs to find a way for people to have a reason to LOVE their New York State.
Andrew Cuomo is NOT the answer. Someone else is. People of New York, say "NO!" to Andrew Cuomo. If we get Andrew Cuomo, its 4 years of more gas taxes that will break the fragile economic state of New York apart forever. It's time New York State has a better Governor than Andrew Cuomo.

Thinking about LIFE

G'day Everyone.

I have friends far and away. Most of them are on the Internet. Close as a AOL or Yahoo Messenger. Almost closer on the Videophone too. I'm happy to see most of them on a social network site too. Most of them are from my NTID or Gallaudet days. Very few are from my high school days. The last few weeks, I've been cleaning out a storage room in my basement. I've been going through some things of what I've collected over the years. Some I decided to throw out. Some I decided to give it away so that others can use it. Some I'm keeping because of the precious memories of that person I've meet in this life.

Right now, I'm focusing on other tasks in my basement. But the worst is coming for me when I confront my more personal boxes that I need to go through. I'm wishing a good friend was with me so I could share my stories about what I'm looking at and then consider to either keep or toss the item. I may in the next few weeks take some pictures and post on my social network site for my friends to see.

Meanwhile, I want to post a few poem today for my readers. It was given to me by a good friend of mine long ago. He told me and said "When you feel sad and alone and think what to with your life, read this poem and then remember me.".
So, here it is:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't;
If you think you'd like to win, but think you cant,
It's almost a cinch you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out in the world we find...
Success begins with a fellow's will:
It's all in a state of mind.
Life's battles always don't go
To the stronger or faster man:
But soon or late, the man who wins
Is the one who thinks HE CAN!
unknown.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you to my precious friend of mine. I hope this helps others.
Have a great day!

PA Election day aftermath.

G'day Everyone.

It's ugly! Way ugly. Voters have sent the incumbents to the unemployment line and hired their NEW replacement in the local, state, and congressional offices.

For the first time, Stephen Cappelli got tossed out of his state office bid permanently. David Huffman will face people in the fall in order to make the final run. For Cappelli, it was a losing bid for himself. Too many people remember his days as Williamsport's mayor and how the city was filled with trouble. Let's hope he has a better time finding a job now.

Speaking of someone finding a job: Arlen Specter is OUT OF A JOB!! This former GOP favorite that switched sides to hop on the Obama ride has been EJECTED from office. There is the wave of anti-Obama feelings going on and voters hitting on members of congress who've been there TOO LONG.

Obama is going to feel the message of the voters this year: Mess with our nation and we promise to put in NEW members of congress that you CAN'T DEPEND ON AT ALL! That's the message that is coming out LOUD AND CLEAR!!

This coming FALL, it will be an election year that will be different than all the other ones we've seen.
At the same time, I filed more complaints on the political parties that don't respect the do-not-call lists. They'll be paying the state of PA some much needed money for sure.

One thing I liked yesterday when I went to the polls. After I parked my car and was walking to the go into the building where the voting booth was, one of the political volunteers was coming up to me and saying "oh please vote for...", she didn't get her chance to finish. I held up my hand and said " DO NOT INFLUENCE ME. IF YOU ATTEMPT TO INFLUENCE ME RIGHT NOW, I MAY CHANGE MY VOTE AND YOUR CANDIDATE WILL LOSE....*BIG TIME*!! DO YOU WANT TO RISK IT?". She stood there shocked. Then I told her this:
" GO HOME AND YOUR CANDIDATE WILL SURVIVE TODAY. THE PEOPLE ARE ANGRY AND YOUR INFLUENCE WILL BE SEEN AS A LOSING CANDIDATE.".

She was clearly pissed with me. I later learned that she had to leave when she pissed off a few other people. She wasn't happy but the voters are NOT in the mood for political mind game any more.

Yes, come November and we shall remember everything. The power of the 2010 will go down in history as POWER FOR THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION!

Penn State's Political Battles begin

G'day Everyone.

Welcome to Monday. From now until the 2nd Tuesday in November, it's going to rain Political mudslides!! So haul out those political umbrellas. Be protected but get to know the candidate and who to vote for!

In the next 24 hours, Penn State will begin it's primary day and kick off the election season. This year a lot of people are not just only up for elections in congress, but over State Governor's office on down is open for election votes. The soon-to-be ex-Governor in a few months Rendell is trying to influence the voters of who he really wants to replace him. But sadly, the people are going to ignore Gov. Rendell because of some of the bad decisions that he's done has impacted our state very badly. Example: Last year, when the state budget should have been done on time, it wasn't. It was held hostage by him until he got what he wanted. By then, every part of the Pennsylvania State felt the impact of a lack of State money support in various programs. A lot of voters are going to remember this and punish Rendell's party in a very rough way.

Congress is already caught up in it's biggest political fight of it's life. We could see many incumbents being thrown out and new people put into office. Just how many incumbents will survive this year? I'm predicting no more than 10 incumbents will survive this political season. Many the voters will hit hard against any political person who voted for the Obama Health care bill. That may be the key issue that could doom many people in congress. Apologies and promises will NOT save them this time.

So as it begins to rain political mud this year, use the umbrella wisely. It could get worse. If mud turns to cow poop, run for the polls and VOTE them OUT!

Enjoy your week.

Spend time with Friends.

G'day Everyone.

In the hustle and bustle of this world, we stay too busy. Some people ask for our attention more than the attention of our friends, family, and lovers. But when we get a break in the moment, we spend time checking emails, running the errands, and taking care of other things. But not taking care of the personal communications that are required of us.

But does all that permit us to fail to spend time with friends, family, and lovers? NO. We keep thinking every day of this mantra: "I'm busy so much with everyone that wants my attention, I'll pray for my friends, family, and lovers today. I promise to talk to them tomorrow.". We keep saying this every day after day. Year after year.

Until one day it all comes screeching to a halt. A friend dies. A family member dies. A lover dies. It takes the surviving people to get your attention by screaming at your boss and everyone else that got your attention first and say " BACK THE FUCK OFF! WE GOT IMPORTANT NEWS TO SHARE WITH THIS PERSON!" .

And then in that dreadful silence, the news is dropped like an atomic bomb on this so very busy and popular person. "BOOM! (Nuclear-like)". The news goes: "I'm sorry to say this, but you been so busy with everyone else that has your damn attention, that your Family member (name), or your Friend (name), or your lover (name), passed away recently! We tried to get your attention to so that you could spend time with you. He/She/They have tried to get your attention personally too!".

For the person who gets that message? The words, spoken or written, hangs in the very air and in the very eyes. The message is read again, repeated on the lips carefully. Shock, horror, fear runs through that person. The first thoughts are "NO! It can't be true about my friend, or family member, or my lover!! NO!!". Then in the next instant, mournful scream, the painful cry, the crashing of various objects about the room and other things happen. The people (the popular crowd, the boss, and the workers) back away fast like a guilty party and scurry to their own cubby holes.

The person has to drag themselves to see if it's true their family member, or their friend, or their lover has truly died and gaze upon the body with their own eyes at the funeral. When they see it, they will mournfully scream and cry. "why didn't I take the time? I was thinking of him/her recently, but I was so busy with others! Why didn't I take the time, I was so busy with work, wrapped up a career, planning a successful life".
and many other words of GUILT being spoken.

By the time they attend the funeral along with the rest of the surviving people. Their grief is much more worse than the crowd of people who kept in touch with the person. They are not the same people ever again.

You don't have to go through this. NO. Here is my suggestion for you, dear reader.

Take time to talk to your friend, or family member, or lover today. Pop an email. Pop a text message on a his/her cell. Send an instant message. CALL on the Cell! Call on the land line, Call on the VP. Just once a week, do it. Plan a weekend. Make a special trip. Go somewhere together. Dine out. ANYTHING!!
IN EVERYTHING KEEP THE LINES OF COMMUNICATION OPEN with the person who's your friend, family member, and lover as much as possible! Do it at least ONCE A WEEK! Make it a fact of life to do it.

Because when death happens, you will be glad that YES, you did talk to that person PERSONALLY before death happened. The grief may happen, but it'll be less if possible.

I say it today because I have done all that I can do to talk to every other person in my life. But I get ignored. I feel unimportant. I feel unneeded. I feel unloved. Will it take God to reach down and take my life unexpectedly to get the attention of others when it gets too late? It's very possible it will.
If people forget who's a Friend, a family member, and a lover, then it's their own fault when it's too late.

I hope my post helps others out there because if I am gone before anyone else thinks of me today and they wait until whenever they have the time to want to talk to me, then it's too late. The same goes for others.

Out walking and everything.

G'day Everyone.

Well, I took advantage of the weather yesterday afternoon. I went to downtown Williamsport along with my digital camera and snapped away more than 150+ pictures. I'm like doing a little photo journalism for my friends to see. But walking more than nearly 10+ miles in one day? My feet are bitching like hell.

The Space Shuttle Atlantis: link: http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/05/16/atlantis.space.station/index.html?hpt=T2has made it's final docking at the International Space Station today. It's kind of bitter sweet for them to see the final dock and then in 10 days fly for home. May the astronaults have a good week at the ISS and then have a safe final flight home.

As the week starts over for many people, I hope this will be a good week. Brace the storms and we'll get through this. I'm also in hopes for a job interview this week.

Memorial day is coming up soon. May people should plan events for this holiday.

So till next post, I bid you SEMPER FI>

The last flight of the space shuttles.

G'day Everyone.

History is here in our Nation once again. It's history time at NASA's space program. As the flight of the Space Shuttle winds down to the last 3 flights, each one will leave their mark on our Nation's history and in our hearts and minds.

Tomorrow, Friday, May 14th: In the afternoon, Space Shuttle Atlantis will fire her engines one last time and soar into the skies and back into space. She will link up with the International Space Station. She will fly for the last time for 12 days.
Link: http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/catch-it-live-space-shuttle-atlantis-preps-final-liftoff/19476706

I can only believe that when Atlantis lands back on earth, hopefully in Florida, on May 26th, her engines will be shut down for good and then taken out and put some where on historical display some where in our nation.

After that, Discovery and then Endeavor will fly their last ones.

I feel the great shame of our nation. Our President and NASA should be working on a NEW fleet of Space Shuttles! We should be building a new shuttle rather than working other projects. Why should we have to depend on Russia to bring our astronauts to the ISS? We should be building a rocket that will lift our own to the ISS like the Apollo moon shot rocket and back. How hard is that to do?

Tomorrow, watch Atlantis fly one last time. Cheer. Pray for the brave men and women who go on her last mission. Atlantis, fly true. Fly fast, fly free. For one thing is that there will never be another brave ship like Atlantis ever again.

The first incumbent in congress is OUSTED!

G'day Everyone.

If you have been keeping tabs on the Election 2010 this year, then you ought to know the first person in congress, a long time member in congress, has finally been ousted in a spring election!

Link:http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100512/ap_on_el_ho/us_west_virginia_congress
It was a West Virgina congressman's 28 years in the U.S. House to come to an end this Spring. He no longer has a job in Congress. For Obama, it became his first *warning* of what voters are going to do state by state this year. People are angry as The U.S. Congress will be voted out and the State Legislatures will also face losses of their incumbents as well. For the Democrats, they know this year could spell DOOM for them. They're going to rue the day that they should have never picked up Health Care as a Bill to vote on in congress. Should have never done voted on Health care in a year important as this is.

Let us hope that we not only change congress but our State Legislatures as well.

semper FI and POWER to the VOTERS!

Horror video of the Red Light Drivers.

G'day Everyone.

A reader of mine sent me a video link that shows you how people attempt to beat the red light. Do you want to know HOW STUPID people are? I mean VERY STUPID.
I'm not going to say WHERE it is. You'll see for yourself. And don't forget: Don't try turning right on Red in THAT area. It's illegal. You'll see what I mean.

Link: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1418565565?bctid=70368898001

Now, think of this DAILY in Washington, DC, and all the major cities and towns in USA. Yes, there has been a lot of moments in my life that I could have hit and have been almost hit by several red light runners out there. These people DO NOT HAVE any respect for the traffic laws. They think they own the road. Unfortunately they do not. Not only they're caught, but they will be bought to court and made to pay for it, even if it means to TAKE AWAY THEIR CAR!!

Now, there is no sense folks, even for you, the deaf driver, to go through red lights. If you do so, you accept the risk that you will not only get hurt, but also get killed. If the accident doesn't kill you, most likely a driver who's having a bad day after work, will most likely kill you!

So please, no texting and driving. RESPECT THE LIGHTS! ESPECIALLY THE RED LIGHT!

Angry Mother Nature Weekend.

G'day Everyone.

First, a happy "BELATED" Mother's Day to all moms out there. I've been busy since Mother Nature (bow to her, people, because she's been angry lately), decided to unleash a wind storm that has pretty much invaded my area. Branches are down, power is out in various parts of the area, and a general clean up has begun today after waiting for the winds to die down.
After the winds died, it's been COLD. Some one told me at knobels camp ground, it's been very cold on the hills and every one's got a fire going. WOW. Talk about a weekend that acts like a fall weekend! It's going to remain cold for a while a bit. But we should expect some crop damages at this part of the season already. What a rough growing season it's going to be.

A lot of discussion is still going on about the FCC cutting funding for the VRS providers. While I have said my part, a lot more bloggers are getting to the discussions and digging down for more into of the reasons why. I still think it's a knee jerk reaction to how John Yeh's attempts to defraud the FCC in the past with his own VRS company. But if this proposal gets passed, then we all get hit as one community. That's not fun. So keep sending letters to the FCC and tell them VOTE NO on that proposal. There has to be a better way to do this.

Meanwhile, I heard that Micah Brown will have an important hearing this week. I'm not commenting on when and where it's going to be. But, his family is helping him as much as they can do. He's got a wonderful lawyer working with him. Pray for Micah Brown, my friends. He will need it very much.

As the business week gets under way, a lot of concern is on Greece and it's debt. It pulled down much of the stock market. That's bad as it is. But hopefully there's a turn around this week. Mother nature is still in storm stage this week, but enjoy the sun shines while you can. I have sun here and I will enjoy it.

Also this week is very important too. Hurwitz will have his official inauguration installation to the President's office, the Graduates of GU will get their hoods, and the Graduation Ceremony will cap and close the 2010 year on Gallaudet University. Best wishes to the Gallaudet University Class of 2010!

BREAKING NEWS: SAVE SORENSON VRS!

G'day Everyone!

I"m sorry I am late on this, but I'm MORE angry than a bull in a china shop! Just few weeks before the federal trial that involves the deaf that attempted to defraud the FCC of money, the FCC has already decided to punish the VRS providers and the Deaf Community!

The info: www.sorensonvrs.com/savevrs

What you must do: choose one of the 3: email, mail, or fill out the form and what that means is that FCC is accepting public comments. YOU MUST GET INVOLVED NOW! If the FCC's proposal is adopted and it cuts the services of the VRS despite the ADA law, we, the deaf, are getting shafted here.

Who's to be majorly blamed? John Yeh and his cronies! If you forgot his crimes:
http://thedeafsherlock.blogspot.com/2010/01/breaking-news-john-yeh-is-named-in.html
http://thedeafsherlock.blogspot.com/2010/02/another-two-more-vrs-execs-plead-guilty.html

Right now, John Yeh and his defendants ought to be hanging their heads in shame for what they have just done to all of us. How could they do this to us? The FCC is using their new rule to punish us because of the crimes done by John Yeh and his defendants. Should we have to bear John Yeh and his defendant's crimes here? NO!

I say let's rise up. I POST A CALL TO ACTION! IT'S TIME FOR ACTION! SAVE SORENSON VRS! Let the FCC know they can't do this just because of John Yeh and his cronies. Tell the FCC to stop their proposals. Give John Yeh and his defendants their day in court on May 24th. But tell the FCC to get involved with the Federal government trial. If FCC is looking to be paid for supporting VRS industry, then tell the FCC to SUE Mr.John Yeh and his defendants! They're the very ones at the center of it all.

Get moving everyone! We don't have much time!

The Last National Prayer Day?

G'day Everyone.

I was concerned when a report appeared on CNN that a judge decided to strike at the heart and faith of our nation when he declared NATIONAL PRAYER DAY as UNCONSTITUTIONAL! Nothing gets me more angry than this judge! Link:http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/05/06/national.prayer.day/index.html?hpt=T3

Now it comes to a question of our nation. Since the judge rules this against our nation, could it be our Last National Prayer DAY as requested by the Government? Perhaps, at our 60th National Prayer Day next year, we shall call to action of our nation and stand up before all judges and tell them: "We PRAY FOR THIS NATION AND FOR YOUR PROTECTION! YOU SHALL NOT STOP THIS NATION, OH JUDGES, FOR WE SHALL ASK OF GOD TO JUDGE THEE!"

What ever you are doing today, PRAY for our Nation and it's leaders in this nation. Our nation needs God so much more and courage to face our troubles.

National Day of PRAYER!

G'day Everyone.

This month of May is my special month of my life. It's a time of celebration for me. But I thought of something special. Rather than asking people to party with me during my special month, I'm asking everyone to do me a BIG FAVOR.

THURSDAY, MAY 6th, 2010: NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER. It's a call of the people to the time of PRAYER for our nation. There has been a lot of discussion of ending this unofficial National Prayer Day. But as I look on the web site: http://nationaldayofprayer.org/ it's more than serious as ever.

I'm asking many readers to join their church members and prayer partners in this National Day of Prayer. What to pray for? For our nation. For our Federal Government officials and workers. For our Nation's Military people in various places in the world. For state and local officials. For our family and friends. For our religious people to stay strong in faith of God.

This event is important to our nation and it's people. It's asking God to help this nation in times of crisis.

So please, honor my special favor, my dear readers. Make this month of May special for me and everyone else.
Join your church ministry and take part in the national day of prayer.

Getting Back to the Posts.

G'day Everyone.

I took some much needed downtime and focused on things that were off the 'net and off Facebook as well. It was a good weekend of doing that. But downside of it just makes me realize how much I need human interaction outside the technology world. We may all be connected by the 'net and computers, but it'll never replace the human physical in-person interaction that we all crave in our lives.

Hearing about the BOMB SCARE in the Times Square of NYC, what were those idiots thinking? http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/05/02/nyc.car.bomb.explainer/index.html?hpt=T2In all the world, NYC has the most comprehensive camera system that watches over the Times Square crowds. Plus, it's also that people are snapping away with their cameras and digital cameras are filming just about everywhere. I just hope those people will be caught and prosecuted for their attempted act of terrorism on US soil. Alert people win the day!

Meanwhile, will the oil companies have to shut down their rigs in the off shores areas? After what happened in the gulf of Mexico of the BP oil rig incident, I will bet you that many other oil companies with oil rigs out there would have to revise their disaster plans in view of this oil disaster. When the oil slick hits our shores, it's going to hit home of just how bad that we're not taking care of our planet in a responsible way. But if it ever comes out that this was terrorism that hits an oil rig, it's going to change the oil industry in a big way.

I will be doing more posts in the coming days. Just right now, I'm back from a break. To my friends in the Tennessee state, I'm thinking of you all out there.
