The last flight of the space shuttles.

G'day Everyone.

History is here in our Nation once again. It's history time at NASA's space program. As the flight of the Space Shuttle winds down to the last 3 flights, each one will leave their mark on our Nation's history and in our hearts and minds.

Tomorrow, Friday, May 14th: In the afternoon, Space Shuttle Atlantis will fire her engines one last time and soar into the skies and back into space. She will link up with the International Space Station. She will fly for the last time for 12 days.

I can only believe that when Atlantis lands back on earth, hopefully in Florida, on May 26th, her engines will be shut down for good and then taken out and put some where on historical display some where in our nation.

After that, Discovery and then Endeavor will fly their last ones.

I feel the great shame of our nation. Our President and NASA should be working on a NEW fleet of Space Shuttles! We should be building a new shuttle rather than working other projects. Why should we have to depend on Russia to bring our astronauts to the ISS? We should be building a rocket that will lift our own to the ISS like the Apollo moon shot rocket and back. How hard is that to do?

Tomorrow, watch Atlantis fly one last time. Cheer. Pray for the brave men and women who go on her last mission. Atlantis, fly true. Fly fast, fly free. For one thing is that there will never be another brave ship like Atlantis ever again.

Semper FI, Atlantis!
