Pope John Paul II: Closer to sainthood!

G'day Everyone.

Despite that I used to be catholic long ago, I used to love the Catholic church. That was when the late Pope John Paul II (PJP2) was leading it. He was a man that really knew his stuff, but some priests were doing crimes beneath him and of course, almost did nothing about them.

When he died, I was sad for him. I remember staying up almost all night to watch his funeral procession that had happened. Who was the leader for the funeral? Cardinal Ratzinger, who is now Pope Benedict XVI, was that leader then. I remember his very face that he was angry and upset when many of the people back then demanded that the Vatican make PJP2 a saint RIGHT AWAY. There were signs and banners that demanded for it. But, the Vatican resisted the efforts back then.

Now, late last night something came across on CNN news. Link: http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/europe/01/14/vatican.john.paul.beatification/index.html?hpt=T2

So, as of May 1, 2011 PJP2 will soon become the Blessed PJP2. Will Pope Benedict XVI like to do it? Depends on his reactions.

PJP2 is someone who I like, but not someone who I'd worship. But like every other person in the world, all will face judgement by Jesus Christ. No pope or leader of faiths has the power to decide the eternal fate of others. Only Jesus Christ does. Amen.

Rest in Peace, Karl.
