Scams. There are sick individuals out there that are tricking and destroying users of Facebook. I know one friend of mine that has been scammed and the police are definitely involved in an active investigation.
So what scams am I talking about happening on Facebook? Read this site:
Be aware, my dear facebook friends. Gold membership in Facebook isn't going to get you anything extra.
Those in Farmville and Farmtown lately are being scammed more heavy than before. It should be obvious that scammers are hard at work.
When some one send you a recommendation to join a group or use an application, do yourself a favor. Before you fall victim to a scam, contact your friend that "recommended" you. Ask your friend to CONFIRM that he/she did do the recommendation for you to join a group or an application.
And please, hit your applications settings list and check your bookmarks often as possible. Some has been programming in some malware and spyware applications into the facebook applications area. Remove them when you see them and to be on the safe side, run your anti-virus programs.
I do hate of what's going on, but these individuals are bent on hurting facebook as well as other social media sites as well.
So please, be aware and be careful.
