Deaf Comics!

G'day Everyone.

I found some Deaf Comics on DeafRead. I think that should be a permanent part of Deaf Read feature. Don't you think? We need some good laughs.

First: Have you ever thought of how the police view the recent Federal Indictment of john Yeh? Just think of what they did to a Videophone: http://www.clercscar.com/?p=393

Second: Matt Daigle has some great cartoons: http://www.mdaigletoons.com/index.html

if you know other Deaf cartoons.. Tell DeafRead!

Semper FI!

Thanks for recognizing Deaf comics! I'm the cartoonist who did the VRS one over at Clerc Scar.

One of the hardest things with being a Deaf cartoonist is the feeling of working alone without much support. Many of my fellow cartoonists have sporadic output or stop creating altogether because they don't have a lot of places to send their work or they don't get enough feedback to keep their motivation up. That's part of why we have Clerc Scar.

This also applies to Deaf art and creative writing in general. If DeafRead adds a Comics or Deaf Art category, I'm sure more people will submit after they see the category and what springs forth from it.

(P.S. My comic was directed towards the VRS industry as a whole. It came forth from my feeling that companies tend to do a lot of profiting off deaf people without ensuring their companies provide lasting economic support. See Ryan Commerson's vlogs over at Signcasts.)
