G'day Everyone!
May THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS TONS OF COAL FILL THE ENTIRE HOME OF THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES BASEBALL STADIUM!!
Why am I wishing this? READ: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/lee_jenkins/12/14/halladay.lackey/index.html?xid=cnnbin
First of all, the Phillies should have done one agenda this year: GET RID OF PEDRO "Who's your daddy?" Martinez. This baseball pitcher is the one that has betrayed the entire Phillies organization during the world series. He knew he caused controversy and at the same time, he didn't do his very best on the mound because he gave the Yankees a "GIFT". A GIFT that he helped win the Yankees win their world series. It's also clear he wanted to be a Yankees pitcher too. Well, He was dumped and away. None too soon.
Second, The Phillies are making their second mistake of year. Giving away Cliff Lee to the Seattle Mariners in a huge trade that gains them Roy Halladay. What happens if it turns out to be a very bad idea? If I were the General manager and the coach of the Phillies, I'd do everything in my power to keep CLIFF LEE right where I want him and trade others to get Halladay.
But alas, if this deal goes through, *sigh*... The Phillies had better enjoy all that coal for the rest of the season till spring training hits. They better hope that Roy Halladay was the best deal they could get by letting Cliff Lee go. If they're wrong on Halladay, every game in 2010 will be a chorus of BOOS and fans will remind the Phillies the Lee was the better man they let go.
As baseball teams make their trades, they better hope that spring training will be good in the coming season of baseball. Hopefully less drugs, but more honest pitching/games for MLB.
Farewell, Cliff Lee. Always remember, yer the best Phillies player we ever had! You shouldn't have to go, but we hope you will return some day.
Semper FI
