G'day Everyone!
For those who wake up and phone that Phil, the famous Ground Hog, on his big day would give us the forecast for the remainder of the winter season. Guess what? The sun peeked in just enough to inspire Phil to see his shadow and say "6 more weeks of winter, folks!". A collective groan rose up through the crowd. But all in all, it was a time of the year of a hope. So, bundle up everyone! Sit by the fireplace. It's going to be a TOUGH 6 weeks. Old man winter is HAPPY!
Phone Swatting. Is it real? As it is reported on Deafness.about.com by jamie berke, the real credit goes to Robert Goodwin who found this article: http://tech.yahoo.com/news/ap/20090201/ap_on_hi_te/tec911_swatting
While it is happening in various ways, I do believe it's real as it can get to be. But woe for the 911 centers and police departments. While they are only doing their jobs, it will wind up in the legal system over false arrests and various penalties that could be applied to police departments over the false 911 calls. Technology, even for the Internet relay operators, is far behind these days.
This morning, I had a phone call from a collection agency, demanding I hand over a sum of money or I'd be collected. I instantly contacted them back. When I was asked if I knew a name of a person living in my home, I told them right back and said "look, the number is a cell phone. I own this number. You and I are a victim of a debtor's phone swatting. " . That was when they realized it. Even when I told them that I looked their phone number up on google. This collection agency had a lot of people complaining. This hasn't been the first time it happened. Nor the last. It may happen to someone else too. So when you get a call from a collection agency for someone else on your phone, call them back and tell them CLEARLY. Then ask that your cell or land line phone number be removed from their database.
Lastly, it's BLACK and GOLD day! As you know, last night was Super Bowl 43. It was a roller coaster of a moment. What should have been was a game played by any other team. But like Jim said in my previous post comments, it was clear that the refs in the other games favored the Arizona Cardinals and allowed them to win and go on to NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT.
Last night, the Arizona Cardinals made so many penalties of over a 100 yards, it looked like a moment that they'd win on penalties of cheating. But providence of Faith favors those who played an honest game and that's PITTSBURGH STEELERS!
Big Ben reached down with his arm and made a STRIKE in the end zone with a player who made an excellent job of hauling in the football and keeping BOTH feet on the ground of TOUCHDOWN! That was the PLAY OF THE GAME! Yes, it shocked the Cardinals. Yes it shocked the State of Arizona that celebrated too soon. And yes, it shocked Kurt Warner thoroughly. From the near win of "prove it", the Cardinals were sent home "failed and lost it".
Right now, for a temporary time, Pittsburgh is renamed SIX-burgh! Six super bowl wins! Wow!
Cardinals ought to be worried about every other team gunning for them pre-season football opens in August 2009. I say: Good luck birds. The team you ought to fear the most now is the Philly Eagles. Their "talons" (game plans) will be sharpened JUST FOR THE CARDINALS.
So, until next post.. SEMPER PITTSBURGH FI DAY!
