Free Denny's day. AG Holder. Jury Duty.

G'day Everyone.

Yesterday was a MAD HOUSE day at the local Denny's restaurant. They were offering FREE Grand Slam breakfasts. But some times, Denny's give out a bad PR. My local Denny's restaurant has been a place where a few fights have happened and actually hire security guards (rent-a-cops, as most call them) to try to prevent them. Go down there on Tuesday for the free breakfasts and this was a *HUGE* turn out. Way huge. But Breakfast isn't all that free. You still have to pay for drinks, toast, and anything else you want. So it may actually be a good PR day for Denny's. Just as long as there was NO FIGHT IN THE LINES.

Meanwhile, I've been told that the former investigator of the HMB incidents at Gallaudet University, Eric Holder, is now Attorney General of the Justice Department. To be honest to say, I do not support this confirmation of Eric Holder. I have even written and told my congress representative about it. It was confirmed that my congress representative had voted "NO" in the role call vote. The biggest concerns that we should have is, will Holder uphold the ADA law for the disabled community? That is where we must watch and see if this person does that.

Finally, like Micah Brown said some months ago about his Jury Duty experience, I have also gotten a call for Jury Duty myself. It's the 3rd time in many years. The first two times happened during my Gallaudet University days. I didn't want to miss classes and asked to be dismissed from the selection of which I was given that twice. But here it is, 3rd time I'm called to come up for Jury Selection. I don't know what case it's going to be called for. There are several cases that will be happening in the coming weeks in Lycoming County. One of them happens to be a very major murder trial that will be coming up as well. If I get chosen for the Jury, expect me not to discuss it for a while. What I hope for is this: Just to be a member of the Jury and not the foreman of the jury. In Micah's case, he was the foreman on his jury. Unfortunately for me, I do not wish that honor because it is not a good place to be in. So, I will see how jury selection happens in my experience. If I'm not selected, that's ok too.

Till next post, Semper FI!
