At last, NTID President: Alan Hurwitz, finally makes an appearance on the video. There's also ASL videos that sign about the " Frequent Qs and As" http://www.rit.edu/news/?v=46283.

On the bright side, I've gotten credit agencies NOTIFIED, I've gotten a hold of one of the 3 credit bureaus. I've taken my own steps as much as I could do.
Often I'm getting called up on my VP from friends I haven't chatted with in ages and asking me: "hey is it DAMN true it's happening at NTID"? Unfortunately I have tell them: "yep".
My hope in this situation is for Gallaudet University and many other deaf related schools will take protective actions to prevent similar laptop thefts from happening on their own campus.
May you, my dear reader, go out and buy yourself a laptop cable lock and lock your laptop to your desk. Worth the price to pay for a peace of mind that your laptop is SAFE!
As the week winds down, so is my bashing on NTID. I'm still in prayer that the thief will be caught asap. But, we turn our thoughts to the hurricanes. Tropical Storm (hurricane) Gustav has been drenching the states. It's due to be here later tomorrow in my end of the nation.
Hurricane Hanna due to arrive at any hour now. But coming right behind it is IKE! I was surprised when they named it Ike. It's a nickname for Eisenhower. IKE is very strong at the present. How it's going to act, nobody knows. But we're watching. Then look, there's Josephine coming right behind it. I'm going WOW!! This is an unusual hurricane season.
So pray for the people that may be involved in this hurricane season.
Finally to say, I'm going to have a busy weekend. There's a carnival in my area that I'm going to be going to. A local Fall Festival to attend to. And plenty of relaxing. Will the rain chase away this heat? I hope so.

You never cease to amuse me. My worries and hopes aren't limited to Gallaudet, NTID and CSUN and those State-run deaf schools. We're all humans that should receive equal treatments.
The Deaf needs to think bigger than just that of the above. THINK BIG!!! DEVELOP A GLOBAL MINDSET!!!
I'm equally worrying and hoping for my hearing people just as my Deaf and ASL people. Same!!!

I know. I do worry for a lot of people. Even if they say "1,000 hearing RIT" were used as a control group as part of their research and RIT saying "the community isn't impacted by this theft", I'd like to say we are. RIT ought to realize that one of their own schools was violated as a whole instution.
But yes, I am concerned for others as well.
NTID ruined my trust for two things, using the SSN as part of research should be a violation of privacy act and secondly, NTID using my data of name, birth date and SSN without my permission or knowledge makes me really angry. I will always be alumni of NTID but I will also be angry at NTID for using my data for research was wrong because I never gave them any permission to do so. Shame on Dr. Alan Hurwitz. I wish he resigned for this embrassing situation.
