Deaf Porn! and hey.. privacy please?

G'day Everyone!

I never thought I'd see the day that this is actually happening!! I got alerted last nite when someone told me that there was an actual making of DEAF PORN going on. I wondered if the ADA law was screwed on someone's mind too tight?

I refused to run with the information until Jamie Berke posted on her Deafness.about.com site today. Here is the link: http://deafness.about.com/ (actually that's the home page of it.).

But for the real site of what we're talking about today:
http://www.wired.com/culture/lifestyle/commentary/sexdrive/2008/01/sexdrive_0104

Believe it or not..deaf porn? Would it finally be clear that someone is really making movies that involve deaf people having actual sex? Why am I not surprised?

To tell you the truth, the adult entertainment industry is pretty much a real actual business these days. Except there's a lot of problems of putting an adult store in a specific place. Lots of towns fight it when they can. States try to regulate where it's suppose to go (mostly in the infamous Red light district areas). Worth to make a quick profit? Only if you are without ethics and morals for it.

Most consenting adult consumers have turned to the web these days to find the porns that they want to get via mail. Deaf Porn? Would it be a hit with the deaf community? I doubt that. But it depends on Deaf people who want Deaf Porn films. Straight, Gay, and Lesbian movie are NOT closed captioned, but there's little talking and lots of action happening in these adult films.

Yet, I am concern how every deaf community will react to deaf porn. You have to make an opinion and consider your own morals.

And by the way, I also wanted to comment that there's a conversation going on in the deafness.about.com forms. It's filed under General Discussions --> Deafness and promiscuity. For those that want to see what I'm talking about : http://forums.about.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?msg=4060.1&nav=messages&webtag=ab-deafness

So..Semper Fi to PAT M. for his tip to me!

What IS it, with Autralians wanting to make a big deal out of pornography all the time ? stay out of the midday sun Bruce ! stop patronising us all, we know it exists, it's NOT a big deal, and we will or not (As is our preference), ignore it, slate it, or just oppose. Why not shout penis and start a riot ? DOH ! grow up.

Deaf or not, we're all PEOPLE with different interest, etc. I'm not surprised. "Deaf people can do ANYTHING except hear" statement says alot, doesn't it?

Interesting.

Betcha that Deaf Porn will add fuel to the creation of yet more "Deaf Fetishes" clubs to pop up. Some D/deaf have suggested that a hearing person who has a "Deaf Fetish" is ultimately an audist.

Porn is the ultimate form of cultural expression. As C noted, Deaf culture wants to express itself and by all accounts, Deaf Porn will surely do that - warts and all.

:o)

Hey...its a job that anyone can do. If this person want to do the porn, GO FOR IT. Its none of your business if they want to be part of porn. Their LIVES, NOT YOUR.

If Deaf people can run a Deaf Porn, that is within their rights. Why not? If the Fed censored the Deaf Porn because of deafness, that is discrimination. I guess they want to do something equal that is in the hearing society but for the deaf society which is why there is a Deaf Porn. I would say leave them alone and not make and issue about this.

I don't think THIS particular kind of 'deaf inetrest' is acceptable at deaf.read, I thought they stopped allowing porn links of ANY kind ? since once you allow these links then all manner of fetishes are acceptable too, and deaf.read is over, it would get flooded with porn and god knows what.. I do not feel there is a problem for deaf who want to access pornography in logging into it elsewhere, without deaf.read doeing it as well.
