G'day Everyone!
I was surfing through the CNN web page this morning for a bit before I attacked my work (I'm overwhelmed today), I saw this article : " Boy, who refused treatment due to religion, dies". (For the full story, go read: http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/11/29/jehovahs.witness.ap/index.html ).
This morning, I am so angry, I want that judge off that bench. I side with the parents who wanted that boy to have the treatment. But get this: The parents are NOT Jehovah Witnesses. They have suspected correct, the boy's aunt has influenced the boy because she is a Jehovah Witness! How will this aunt feel this morning over her influence to know that she could have saved her nephew and told him "get the treatment, you need to live life more than die such a short life"?
I once tangled with Jehovah Witnesses. We argued 5 straight hours over various medical debate procedures that would have allowed a human being lived. Unfortunately, their belief is clear. They believe a life saving blood transfusion that comes from a stranger is tainted with SIN. I told them clearly at the end of 5 hours debate "you have already committed the greater sin in you because you allow people to kill themselves due to your faith". They left my home in much more doubt of their "religious reasons".
Would you allow a judge to side with a boy, who's 14, a minor, and his aunt, and tell his folks "Well, I know you are his parents, but the boy makes a decision.. etc.. etc.. etc..". Yet, there are some advocate judges out there, who tell the SAME 14 year old children, to listen to their parents and don't die early or leave their family before they finish growing up!
That very judge and aunt will be answering to God for their influence on that boy. God help them. But at the same time, that aunt would be wise to step away from the boy's parents for about 140 years! I'm sure she won't be "welcomed" back to the boy's parent's house any time.
Parents, please take care of your kids today. Teach your children YOUR FAITH. Don't let an aunt or uncle force your kids to be something you are not. Protect the kids. Their life is too precious to die early. I wish this young kid had talked to his folks before he set out to do this. Such a waste of precious life.

Anyone out there wants to know how bad is Jehovah Witness is, read the following link:
http://www.geocities.com/paulblizard/reasons.html
That will open your eyes and learn not to mess with what they belive in. Don't waste your time argue with Jehovah Witness people or join them until you read the link I have mention above.
This was front page news in Seattle today. I was sad about the boy and for his parents too!! The parents lost custody of the boy because they had drug problems, so the aunt was his legal guardian for the past five years. I do not agree with that religion and I do not believe it is right for a child of 14 to be allowed to make such a medical decision. We don't allow children that age to vote, smoke, drink or marry-- how can we allow them to make a life/death decision? Still-- I feel the parents lost their rights as parents when they became drug addicts. The aunt has raised him all this time. That is how she came to have such a strong influence on him. She must have taken good care of him while his parents were drug addicts. It is a very sad story. I blame the church, the aunt and the judge of course. I believe God gave us the gift of medicine so we may heal sickness sometimes.
