MD Renfest/ wondering the future.

G'day everyone!

I had to write about this past weekend. Yesterday, my old friend and former roommate, Bruce Denhart, and I went to the Maryland Renfest. Here's the webpage to what I'm talking about: http://www.rennfest.com

The renfest in Md yesterday was MORE than I expected. First off, be sure you are packing about $100 with you. I will explain in a minute why. Then be sure you plan to stay all day!

The renfest is really called Renaissance Festival. It like to experience the old days in a true sense of a village in a forest. It was very intersting. BUT, be prepared to do a LOT OF WALKING! LOTS OF HILLS!

It's not handicapped accessible place but 1/2 of the place is handicapped. Many vendors have ramps leading into thier shops. So be prepared to have someone push you if you are in a wheelchair.

When Bruce and I were there, it wasn't a day to have asl interpretation at the performances. But looking at the web page here's the info:

>American Sign Language interpretation

>On Sunday, October 14th many stage and court shows will be interpreted with American Sign Language Interpreters. This year the weekend is split to better accommodate visitor's schedules and offer part of the service during the discount ticket offer period ending September 9. Please visit the Customer Service Stand forty yards inside the front gate to for a schedule.

(they had a interpreted day early in September so next one is October 14, that is NEXT SUNDAY! GO THERE and have fun lads and lassies!)

At the same time, it was a hot day, I am glad I changed into shorts. (whew) But, go to the bathroom at home first. I wouldn't recommend going into the port-a-potty. (eeek).
Every bit of food is low cost and yet delicious! I could have tried everything if I wanted to.
So, if you are going to renfest, GO EARLY AS POSSIBLE! But leave at 5pm because when they finish for the day at 7pm, traffic gets tangled. (we didn't get out till 8pm).

Hope you enjoy it!

Meanwhile, I'm wondering my future. While my contract with my job might end this Tuesday, I'm wondering where I will go. I have no set plans yet, so I'm keeping open to the path of the wind.

Yesterday, I was suppose to go to Gallaudet football game. But that changed when I went to renfest instead. Shocking thing is, Gallaudet lost again. Oh what to do? Nothing. Coach Hottle has bitten off more than he can chew. I think with the two week prep for Homecoming weekend will give him time to consider his next year's plans for the Bisons.

My beloved PSU won over Iowa very well. Whoo hoo! That was a tough one.

FYI: Gallaudet University has several NEW board of trustees memebers. They all look good. Hopefully, they will take SERIOUS reponsibility of the campus. So, we'll see what happens. Gallaudet BOTS, be warned! We're watching you!

So till next time.. SEMPER FI!
