Why can't all drive throughs do this?

G'day Everyone.

Here's something that came across in my surfing on the web world.

http://www.pantagraph.com/business/local/article_0d5a9bfe-83bc-11df-9d90-001cc4c03286.html

Now I liked seeing this OrderAssit button at this drive through area. Why cant fast food places use them in high deaf populations areas like Rochester, NY, and Washington, DC as well as other major cities? Why can't fast food places see that this is a need to make things easier. Some times I do anger a lot of hearing drivers when I go straight to the window to order food myself. But I like this OrderAssist I see.

Should it spread to our Fast food restaurant? YES! I would whole heartily recommend it very much. Let's hope it catches on.

Semper FI!

Thanks for sharing this.

I think this would help many people, but when I clicked the link and view the web page. I could not help but find it a little disgusting. If that is in my area, I would press the button with a cloth rather than my hands. When I go up to the window and use their clip board to order, those clip board are dirty from previous users. Do they clean it, disinfect it daily? What about the pen or markers?

I would hope it would be clean.

I have no way of knowing if other customers behind me get upset or not, nor do I care.

When I am behind another car, and that car is at the speaker, then moves to the window, I drive by the speaker, and those drivers in front and behind me sometimes thought I miss the speaker (looks like it).

Then I go to the window and place my order verbally. I usually see the same usual people there.

There have been times when new employees back away from me and get the manager, I let it go (not let it bother me).

I suggest deaf customers write down their order before approaching the window. It is sign of respect to other drivers, order taker and one's self.

My thoughts.

Hey Big Ben! MAJOR SALUTE FOR THAT IDEA!! TOTALLY GREAT IDEA! That helps very so much! We should all run with that idea very much!

Thank you for your input! :-)

You are welcome. I just bought a set of notepads to give to my deaf friend, so he can carry them around and use it. Will he? I shall see.

Nice tract by the way.

I love that bell. FYI the founder of Culivers.. Craig Culiver is a CODA? I learned this after a group in this area decided to honor Culivers for installing those bells!
