SouthWest Airlines Ejects a FAT passenger!

G'day Everyone.

A reader to twitter saw an article about SouthWest Airlines and a FAT Passenger that was ejected off the plane by the pilot over, get this, "Safety Issues". This is pure nuts to read about it. Here's the article at the link and my comments follow after you read it.

Part of that article has made me laugh. Another part has me on the serious side. When plane makers don't realize that the flying public has some weight issues, they don't make designated seats like they're suppose to. If being labeled fat could be a disability label, then it would be an ADA issue and planes would have to make special seats like for the bus and trains.

Airlines have been, for the last few years, making the fat public passengers pay for an "extra seat". But know what? It's a rip-off of an epic proportions. All in the name of airline profits. I have sat next to someone who's WAY larger than me. I've known someone in the 300+, 400+, and of course 500+ pound area. Were they thrown off? OF COURSE NOT! They didn't bother me. I didn't mind the arm rests being up and beside me. I always take a window seat when possible and enjoy the hum of the plane.

I haven't flown in ages right now. But I'm more than happy of taking Amtrak when I can. Does Amtrak charge fat people more? HELL NO! Amtrak has very comfortable seats.

Anyone complain about fat people on bus lines? (I'm talking of mass transportation like Greyhound and Trailways) I doubt any fat person gets charged double fares just because the bus companies are afraid of their tires being blown out from the weight of people. What about taxi cabs? Nope.. not them either.

Overall, I hope Kevin Smith and SouthWest Airlines come to some sort of compensation. But I think at this point that there might not be any since this is already being twittered and blogged away onto the 'net world.
Court fight? Most possible now.

For SouthWest Airline, their Public Relations Image has taken a big hit today. *WHAM* It will take a while before things go smooth again. Me? Hello, Amtrak?

Semper FI!
