G'day Everyone.
If there was something to worry about for this coming weekend, it should be about pigskin football.
In the last few weeks, we've seen plenty of dramas where NFL football teams fought it out to the point that you have to have sudden death overtime.
Look at Kurt Warner. The overtime game he was in shocked him to retire again. I think that's good on his part because he's had enough being hit all over.
Then Brett Farve was hit so many times that he wasn't well enough to focus his team in overtime to fight off the Saints! (real name:aints!). Brett Farve's throw became the interception that doomed his team and his career of the NFL future. Question is: Will Brett Farve return or will he go the way Kurt Warner did? In sense, he ought to play just two quarters each game and then let a new understudy Quarterback take over for him.
Now, we're about to hit Super Bowl 44 in less than 48 hours. Some one wrote about the nightmare about overtime in NFL. So let me say something. If the Saints (AINTS!) and Colts march on down to the OVERTIME DOOMSVILLE, in which will hurt the entire NFL for sure, and if the Saints manage to win the toss and march all the way down in just 3 tries and kick a field goal, it's not sportsmanship. The Colts ought to be given the same opportunity to either score a Touchdown or a Field Goal (to tie it up). The first one to truly miss either opportunity in overtime is the real winner of the Super Bowl game. (In this case, it was Brett Farve's fault for sure!)
But no, the way the play-offs have been going on several weeks before, one wonders if the fairness rule was ever applied for sportsmanship?
Let's hope just one thing: Just one normal 4 quarters of a pigskin game that results in a win by one point or more. No need for OT. If that just happens, we'll all breath a *HUGE SIGH* of relief that won't result in a Monday morning arm chair quarterback picking on the NFL totally. But if we get overtime, run for the damn hills!!
After all, the NFL had better put their honest and most independent refs on the field this time.
The big pigskin show is about to begin Sunday night at 6pm. Relax and enjoy. Be safe this weekend and please drink responsible and drive safely. Police will be out in force. NO drinking, No texting, and no cell phone driving!
Semper FI.
