Christmas in October.

G'day Everyone.

Christmas in October. Humm. Here's the article I found: http://money.cnn.com/2009/10/11/news/economy/holiday_jobs/index.htm?cnn=yes

The biggest wish that will be ON THE MINDS OF MILLIONS OF UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE THIS YEAR? "All I want for CHRISTMAS is: A JOB!". It will be on the minds of many people as we are nearing the holiday season.

I have been wishing that Halloween could be renamed Fall Harvest Festival in a way that would celebrate a light harvest feast. I've seen too many places where people celebrate Halloween as an excuse to glorify evil, death, and destruction. This world is so war weary, that Halloween ought to be shelved permanently and replace it with a Harvest festival as to thank God for a wonderful early harvest of the growing season, while Thanksgiving would mark the end of the growing season completely.

I really wish the retailers would stop hawking Christmas stuff so early! When I went to the Lowes store the other night (Friday night) for a few things, I was passing by the nursery area. Just a few days ago, it was a full garden store. Then someone must have made a decision to haul out the Christmas lights and decorate every fake Christmas tree in stock they had. The result was a multi-color glow that looked like a psychic rock show department!! I couldn't believe it. Neither could other shoppers as well. One parent decided to BLINDFOLD her kid so that the kid wouldn't start going hyper sooner. Hawking Christmas stuff early does not, I REPEAT, does not stimulate the economy.
I used to love the retailers and the malls that would WAIT until close of business on the day before Thanksgiving and then begin the massive 48 hours of transforming the business and the mall into a Christmas paradise. The first Friday (dark Friday) of the Christmas shopping, you could go on a "tour" of the stores and the mall and see HOW DIFFERENT everything is. You would then be filled with the holiday spirit and be in the mood to shop for presents early as possible.
But now, it's just pushed too early. It's sad.

So what are my wishes for Christmas this year? The top of my list is a JOB. Everything else is all secondary.
Here's a blooper of the day:

You might be thinking that person needs either a gift of a new computer or some really new glasses because if that's a NEW species of "deer", Canada ought to brace for hunters! (just kidding).

one last thing: if you haven't vote in the poll, please vote. It closes tomorrow.
till next post, Semper FI.

If I was rich and I had my own
company, I would grant your
Christmas wish and had you working
in my company. I feel sorry that
I can't fullfil your wish. I hope
you get a job soon.
