The Fall Season decends on Williamsport now.

G'day Everyone!

The last crack of the bat, the call of the STRIKE, and the last call of "YER OUT!" had the fans in Lamade on it's feet as a team from California defeats a team from Taipei by a score of 6-3. The screams, the cheers, and the shouts of VICTORY rip through the air.
It is evening now as I type this. The rains are moving in. I can only imagine the Lamade and the volunteer stadiums covering up the grounds as the process begins to put the stadiums back into hibernation for another year till August 2010. It has been a great season here in Williamsport.

The Market Street bridge is being put into the process of being renamed so that people will realize that they are passing through the City of Williamsport, Home of the Little League World Series. Link: http://www.littleleague.org/series/2009divisions/llbb/series.htm

The cool air is drifting through the mountains and lends a sense that the fall weather is starting early this week. By tomorrow morning, many schools of elementary, high school, and colleges / universities will begin the academic year of 2009-2010. Just the same every school and college/ universities begins their Fall 2009 Football year. Much of the games will begin to happen on Friday and Saturday September 4-5, 2009 at the most.

Also by tomorrow morning, many of the fans and players of the Little League World Series will check out of their hotels, climb into their cars, buses, and planes and head on home and saying Good Bye to Williamsport, PA. For many of these kids, coming to this place has been their dreams and now they can say they were here. May they all have a safe drive, bus, and flight going home. For us that live here, say, Come back and visit the next year! There will be another time to play ball again.

As I sit on my porch tonight, I'm wishing to hope the clouds will break and a moon will shine over the area. Perhaps that is a fitting end for the Little League World Series to see and if any lingering fans sitting in the Lamade stands.

So have a great week everyone.
Semper FI!
