SSSD Lawsuit dropped/ HB 1318/ PSAC/ Davila's time.

G'day Everyone.

In the latest news about the events at the Scranton State School for the Deaf (SSSD), a law suit has been dropped. While this sounds shocking to some people, you should read the two links about it:
http://www.timesleader.com/news/Deaf_school_parents_drop_suit_05-28-2009.html
http://www.scrantontimes.com/news/1.39198

While this is sad that these parents are being taken in by the State of PA and being convinced that the Western PA School for the Deaf (WPSD) would be a good idea for the students of SSSD to attend, how do the students feel? The battle is NOT OVER YET!

Currently in the PA General Assembly there is a House Bill #1318 that is currently pending that will force the state of PA to reveal all the activities surrounding the events that have happened about the plan to close SSSD and WPSD's offer to manage SSSD for the future. It would also force the state of PA to stop the SSSD closure option and evaluate the best decisions that can serve the students of SSSD in the future. So if you want to keep track of this bill in the PA General Assembly, Link: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/home/session.cfm in the "by bill" link enter HB 1318 and then click GO. You'll see the status where the bill is in process. I hope this bill does pass !

For those who are keeping a close watch on the Presidental Search Advisory Committee (PSAC), you can keep close track of it at this link: http://psac.gallaudet.edu/ . Remember to pray for these people. They should be making CAREFUL decisions and not move so fast. Even if Davila's term ends on December 31, 2009, the decision by PSAC should not be so fast either. We all know what happened last time of this process. We hope and pray that we do not see another fall out that would further tarnish the future of Gallaudet University. Also, to remind many readers, if you know someone who would make a GOOD PRESIDENT of Gallaudet University, they should go to the above PSAC website link and get their application in BEFORE JUNE 1, 2009! That's this coming Monday! This is the date the applications and nominations close. If you miss it, too bad. You'll have to wait for the next one. (reminder to many people who think of me for the position, HELL NO! I don't wanna be president of GU. But I know a few enemies who'd make a good president of GU. )

From what I've heard of Davila's speech of how he and Team Gallaudet (not the protesters, mind you) have transformed Gallaudet since January 1st 2007, many of the problems that have lasted for many years have been resolved or are continue to being resolved. President Davila has remarked many of the accomplishments during the 2009 commencement at Gallaudet University. I do not know if the commencement is still being shown on the Gallaudet.edu web page but you may want to see it before it's pulled. Davila has done a wonderful work in transforming GU despite many of the naysayers about it. But, Davila has said that the university is still in transformation and whoever is the next president will continue that process.

As we hit June 2009, we will be entering an important next 6 months at Gallaudet University. Davila has a lot of final work to do before his time is over. PSAC will be closely monitored. And of course, football is going to be entering an important season as well.

Stay tuned.

Semper FI!

Message to OOMT: You forget, the deaf community was concerned for GU's future. Davila had a lot to PROVE to us. Davila did that as his personal challenge. Davila has hopes the person who becomes the next president will continue the transformation so that GU will be able to survive the future.

Also Team Gallaudet wasn't made up of all protesters. It was students, alumni, Staff, professors, and members of the deaf community! Stick that back in your mind. Protesters didn't win anything! it's still an ugly stain that needs cleaning and Davila is doing that through Transformation! Go, Davila,Go!

To TheTruth who has been harassing Sherlock, you can do two things.

You can deal with me by emailing me and we take it from there. Or, you can shut the fuck up and quit bothering us with your bluffing. Otherwise, everything you post to here and my blog will be saved for legal reasons.

I'm getting tired of you two children fighting. You two WILL resolve this one way or another.

An open post to many of the people that are members of "the Truth" or pretending to be "the Truth" or "one of the many truth" authors:

As of right now, you can't imagine my anger. Everything that I say in my blog is an opinion. I can be right or wrong, but I show I am a human prone to make mistakes in life.

Second, There are many blog authors that have written about the Gallaudet Protest good and bad. You have unfairly attacked me for no reason and you didn't attack them either. SHAME!

Third: Despite I said that Davila could bring DOOM to Gallaudet University nearly 18 months ago, I withheld many comments and articles about him and GU in the past because I wanted President Davila PROVE to many people that he can Transition Gallaudet University. I took him at his word.
He set out goals and has done of what he can and has hopes that Gallaudet will continue to TRANSFORM in the coming years under the next President that will accomplish more goals. Gallaudet remains a transition state.

Fourth: Shame on you to say 80% of Team Gallaudet is made up of protesters. You are no longer a protester out there. You are no longer a SAVIOR of GU. Most of all, the moment JKF was fired, the protesters jobs were over. They were students again. Team Gallaudet is made up of Students, Staff, Professors, ALUMNI, and members of the Gallaudet Supporters out there. We worked together in helping Gallaudet achieve the problems we needed to solve.
In the next 6 months, Davila's job is far from being done. He is in a challenge to assist this campus to transform to the next president.

Fifth: Like Mac said, you were told to email in his blog and then we could solve this "problem" out before you go out posting again, especially here.

Well, I am going to say it clearly now. I don't care who you are, what you are, and where you are from. You won't get a shot of being posted in my comments. Never will. That's why my blog is in HEAVY MODERATION. NEW SECURITY IS GOING UP. EXPECT ANYONE'S IP to be RECORDED and Passed on to admins.

Finally, to the person who owns "the truth" screen name, it is to you that I personally apologize before and now again, but you have many "friends" who have used and abused my comments sections in your "screen name" and terrorized me. To bully me and threaten me with legal makes you and me look bad. From what I have said an apology before and say it again, take control of your screen name AND YOUR FRIENDS before your friends drag you through further mud of BOTH OF US. WE DO NOT DESERVE THIS! It is hell as it has been in the last 3 years. And to be frank, I'm tired of it. Nobody should have to put up with cyber bullying. To try to force an opinion to be changed in favor of a group of protesters, nobody is going to win this "fight". We all stand a lot to lose along with everyone in the blogsphere.

So let me say this last thing to the protestors and to the Truthies: You are already in the history of GU. That's over, that finished. Don't tarnish it anymore than it is. GET OVER IT AND MOVE DAMN ON! NOW!
But what you can't change is people's opinions and how future generations will discuss and judge.
1988 protest (DPN) has been discussed and judged in the last 20 years. People STILL have a variety of opinion about DPN. No matter how many original 1988 protesters out there try to sway opinions in their favor, they can't.

Finally, This is the last comment about the Gallaudet 2006 UFG. It's over, it's done. FINIS.

My attention is on GU's future and supporting the PSAC and cautioning them to make a *CAREFUL* choice of the candidate for President of GU. We are in a important time of GU's history more than ever.

Thank you.
