The Bernie Madoff Scandal

G'day Everyone!

It has been the butt of jokes on the late night shows. It has been talked about and overkilled often.
But, one thing is clear. Bernie Madoff hurt a lot of people financially. He ruined many businesses and people in his life. He's tried to stash his ill-gotten gains with other family members so that when he goes to prison, his family will be "provided".

In short, Bernie is getting the LIFE IN PRISON "death sentence". The sad part is, why did it take a bleeding heart judge to let him live out his last lavish days in his RICH apartment penthouse as part of his bail conditions? He's no Michael Vick. Though if he wanted to get credit for "time served", he could have spent his days in jail before he gets sent to prison.

But today, and finally today, once he (Bernie Madoff) pleaded "GUILTY" to all of the 11 counts of the charges, the judge finally did the right thing: PUT BERNIE MADOFF IN JAIL!! The judge could no longer ignore the law. For Bernie, one has to hope that he's already put his life's affairs in order, sniffed the last FREE AIR he could ever smell, and wrote out his last will and testament because he knows he's going to die in prison. Many of his victims hope he'll live all of his possible 150 years in prison (which would make him 219 years old if he ever got out), but I do believe that in 10 years or less, he'll likely die and face the higher seat of judgement of his entire life.

It's sad that the government, S.E.C. and the IRS did nothing to stop Bernie Madoff until it was way too late. For them, they also ought to hang their heads in shame because they did NOTHING to protect the investors.

I'm hope that investment agencies have changed the way they do their agency work since the whole scandal has unfolded. But now, investors have to be really cautious about investments. It's sad that Madoff's day of judgement doesn't come till this recession. How many other scandals will happen? Only God knows.

Of what I think of Bernie Madoff? I personally hope that he serves several years in prison before he finally dies. He needs to smell that stinky air of prison.

Semper FI (but not for Bernie Madoff)
