G'day Everyone.
I'm hope a little post today will lighten everyone's mood a bit. But you know that for many years, our deaf colleges of Gallaudet University and NTID dorms of RIT campus have a built in fire alarm flashers. Every time someone pulls that fire alarm, all the strobe lights go off and the building is lit up into one HUGE DISCO lighting effect.
But that's not what this Video is like. Gotta look at this:

cool to watch, no? Unfortunately, it's not cool if you are using all the fire alarms strobe lights!
These students were smart to use BIG Red lights and their room lights. They must have taken a practice run just about every other day to get this MASSIVE production done. I say BRAVO!
Back in the 1980s, especially in my SVP 81 days, we had a false fire alarm almost every day. Even through the 1981-1982 school year. *groan*. Fortunately, I survived. Today, you can't touch the fire alarms on those campus dorms. Just about every one of those alarms have a CAMERA on them 24/7. They also have a substance that sprays on you when you lift the protective glass before you get a chance to pull the alarm. So think twice. You pull that alarm for a FALSE ALARM, you will see and end of all your college dreams, be hauled into court, sent to prison, and told that you have to pay back a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY!
Please, as it's October Fire Safety protection month, don't touch the fire alarms for whatever reason other than REPORTING A REAL FIRE GOING ON in the dorms. Nobody likes to be waken up at 2am for a false fire alarm. Because if they find out it's you, you better start to run for your life.
Other than that, I've been told that some researchers have already video taped the fire alarm strobes at the campus of Gallaudet and NTID years ago. I still wish, in some ways, had my old VCR camera and video taped that myself. As I said, the strobe lights are cool to watch but pain in the butt for everyone else.
So, enjoy the weekend. I just heard our Bisons are in Maine for the football game this weekend which will happen at 12 noon tomorrow. But tune in for PRIME TIME FOOTBALL on Saturday night on ESPN. Penn State University vs Ohio State. This one is set for a SHOWDOWN. (diving into the football fox hole). 8pm. Be sure to watch it.
Salute to Brantley Hinshaw for his tip of the video.
Semper FI.
